Dr. Ian K. Smith developed the Fat Smash Diet. The Fat Smash Diet is very much different from other strict dieting program that promotes weight-loss. The complex and strict dieting routine of various diets often lead to hunger and starvation, and do not offer lasting results. Fat Smash Diet completely disagrees with this type of method for losing fat and weight. Phases of the Fat Smash Diet

There are four phases of the Fat Smash Diet, each consisting of 4 to 5 small meals per day, consisting of raw, steamed, baked, or grilled food. Each meal should be spaced approximately 3 to 4 hours apart. The dieter is advised to watch his or her portion size and only eat until just full. The diet is not solely based on eating habits - it also recommends regular exercising.

Fat Smash Diet Phase I: - Detox
Detox means "cleanse your body and mind" in order to become a person with healthier habits. The first phase lasts 9 days long, and it is a vegetarian plan which can include the addition of egg whites and dairy products. Regular exercising five days a week is required during this stage. This phase aims at cleansing the body and the mind. In this phase people are encouraged to get rid of the bad habits of the past and develop new healthy habits.

Fat Smash Diet Phase II: - Foundation
The second phase lasts a little longer. It is a 3 week phase. More food options are allowed. Seafood, and healthy cereals now become part of the plan, and the exercise recommended is upped from 30 to 35 minutes for 5 days a week.

Fat Smash Diet Phase III: - Construction
Phase III is a 4 week construction phase. This phase is bit easier as it now includes pastas, breads, and desserts in small portions. One dessert daily is allowed: One scoop low fat ice cream or 2-3 cookies. The length of exercising should last 41 to 44 minutes.

Fat Smash Diet  Phase IV: - Temple
Phase IV is meant include a lifetime plan. The exercise and eating habits learned in phases 1, II and III will lead one through this phase. The person on the fat smash diet, now, gets to eat most foods and drinks him or she had previously enjoyed, including alcohol.
