Stallone Pudding - High Protein Pudding

Sylvester Stallone Instone Pudding Review

From the supplement company of Sylvester Stallone, the Instone pudding is a high protein snack for users who are looking for more healthy ways of getting more protein in their diets. There are very few other high protein pudding products serving this segment of the market, and if you're searching for a high protein pudding snack, you're unlikely to find many others. Most of what you find will be the Instone protein pudding.

Each can of the Stallon pudding comes with 20 grams of protein, 2 grams of carbs, and 0 grams of fat - for a total of 100 calories. The protein sources of the pudding comes from calcium caseinate, and soy protein isolate. Seeing this made me wonder why Instone Nutrition decided to use soy protein in this high protein pudding snack - after all, it is an inferior protein compared to whey, and I can't figure out why they didn't opt for whey protein instead? Using soy protein in a product is not necessarily a bad thing, but considering that there are better sources of protein (ie. whey) available, it makes me wonder why they chose soy protein. As you can see from the ingredient list above, the Instone pudding is a pretty lean protein snack providing 20g of protein, 2g of carbs, and 0g of fat content. For a protein pudding snack low in sugar containing no fat, you're probably wondering how good it tastes.

Stallone Pudding Taste Test

The Instone protein pudding comes in 3 flavors: chocolate, vanilla, and banana cream. I've had the chance to try the chocolate and banana cream flavors.

Instone Pudding Banana Cream

Oh my, if you want a bad tasting pudding, this would be it. The first few bites are okay, but as I eat more of it, the taste of it seems to really get to me. It felt like I was eating sweetened glue of some sort. Not very pleasant. Maybe it had something to do with the artificial flavoring trying to simulate the banana flavor?

In any case, considering that it's a high protein, low carb and low fat protein snack, I would give it a 6/10 rating at most for the Banana cream. I do not recommend this flavor.

Stallone Protein Pudding Chocolate

Now, this is quite a different story compared to the banana cream flavor. I actually enjoyed eating the chocolate flavor. It tasted pretty good, and was very "chocolatey". I didn't feel like I was eating glue as I did with the banana cream, and overall, I enjoyed the chocolate flavor. It's safe to say that I will be sticking with the chocolate flavor from now on. 8/10 rating.

The Instone puddings are available in 4 can and 24 can packs, with an average price of each can working out to about $1.60 or so.
