Hope this helps

For some reason I can't help but be a little skeptical.

I'll try it anyways- along with some Sesamin, and give you my criticism when it comes in.

I plan on taking 6 G a day for a month and a half, and I'll give you the REAL low down then.

I also plan on taking the reccomended dosage of the Sesamin, and we'll see how all this comes into play.

BTW - just a little advice seeking here, are there any tablet holders around, where I can put all my tabs in one little neat easy to carry bag?

Default NSI XS-CLA Dosage?

I just got NSI Tonalin XS-CLA. The label says that it contains Safflower Seed Oil (high linoleic acid) 1g, and Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) 780mg. Does this mean that each pill is effectively 1,780mg of CLA? I'd like to take the 3.4 g/day as used in the study, but I'm not sure if I need 2 or 3 pills/day.

Ya, I noticed the article in bodybuilder.com said the most effective dose was around 3.4g/day. I think it's probably best to take 4 grams a day with a Tonalin 1285mg 80% CLA brand

Default I love CLA!

I started CLA at the end of April '07 and to date have lost about 25 lbs with it. Since starting I've come across magazine articles on it adn think this stuff is great! According to the articles, in lab studies, people took between 3000-5000mg of CLA a day to lose weight and there aren't an adverse side effects.

I've purchased from two places so far...

First was from vitacost. I bought their NSI brand CLA Tonalin. It was a huge bottle, like 240 gel caps. It took about 3 weeks before I noticed anything. Scale wasn't really moving but my clothes were looser.

After that bottle ran out (I started sharing it with family and my husband) I came across a site (wellnesspartners) touting their CLA as superior because it had 1285mg of actual CLA...the NSI brand had 750mg I think? So my logic told me more CLA = more weightloss.

Now that I am getting low on the wellnesspartners bottle, I am thinking of going to back to vitacost. Why? Bigger bottle, cheaper, and frankly I didn't see any more weightloss or more inches lost using the more expensive bottle.

What also bugged me about the wellnesspartners cla is they say it's made with 1285mg of cla, safflower oil (as is vitacost's NSI brand)...but once the bottle arrived, it gives you a list of ingredients and their values under Supplement Facts, then other ingredients: Conjugated Linoleic Acid (Tonalin), Free Fatty Acids, Gelatin, Glycerin, Water, Color.

Now maybe it's just me here, but the CLA is the most important ingredient on the label and they have it listed on the bottom with NO value listed. On the side of the bottle where it advertises how great it is, it says 1285mg safflower oil with 72-82% CLA. I just wish they were more specific on the actual nutritional label as to what and how much is in there.

Actually I just checked the CLA tonalin from vitacost's website which says it contains 72-82% CLA which is the same as wellnesspartners, just cheaper. I'm going back to vitacost then.

Well just wanted to share with you that I think that CLA/tonalin is excellent in helping to lose weight and inches. I hurt my foot several weeks ago and have been pretty immobile - housework, errands, and kids only pretty much, and still lost that much weight. Now that my foot is almost better I hope to incorporate the treadmill into my life and see how much weight I lose.

Not sure if this issue was ever resolved... The reason pregnant women should not take CLA is because research indicates decreased lipid secretion in the mother's milk. This is a danger to the baby who needs the high energy content to survive. Most of these studies has been in lambs, cows, etc, but in general what happens in other mammals happens in humans too.
