Default Cardio after lifting...

I haven't been around here lately, but I recall it being pretty much set in stone around here that cardio after lifting would thrust your body into a catabolic state (BAD).

For me, it would be really nice if I could compress both into one visit to the gym. I've read a few articles that suggest it isn't bad for you after all, so what's the deal? Has the consensus changed, is it a matter of opinion, or people who don't know what they're talking about are the only ones saying otherwise?

Haha, no man, some light to moderate cardio after your lifting is fine, just dont be doing cardio BEFORE lifting or you wont have the gas in the tank for the lifts afterward.

Nothing wrong with it at all imo. Im currently cutting and including 40 mins moderate intensity cardio after my weights 3 times a week and once on a Sunday morning on a much debated empty stomach.

agreed, I'm doing pretty much the same as surpher. I do 40 minutes on the treadmill with the incline set at 12 and the speed at around 3.5-4.5 mph after weights.

I usually have a half-scoop of protein after lifting then hit the punching bag for 20-30 min, then another protien shake for good measure. I also do the treadmill in the morning before breakfast at least 5 days a week.

I do believe lifting heavy burns up all your glucose in the muscles, so cardio after is like AM cardio.....mostly fat burning....I remember reading something like that awhile back....
