Default Sleep Research losing weight

Has anyone seen any research done on how much sleep you should get while trying to lose weight...

My guess is that everyone is going to say you should get 8 hours. But doesn't it make since that if you only got say 5 hours that your metabalism would be awake and runnning 3 extra hours a day? Does this make since to anyone else?
