Default Hot Rox Extreme Review/Ongoing Blog.

So, after searching around for a while trying to find something that would help me get that 'initial' boost I finally decided on HotRox.

What this thread is intended for.

A daily track of progress, daily weight, diet, lifting/cardio, as well as how I generally feel while taking HotRox.

I am in no way shape or form attempting to get you to buy HotRox. Honestly I don't care at all about your opinion. This is purely for people who want a little bit more review then the cooporate spiel.

So... a little bit about myself

I'm a 22 white male. 5"9 and currently at 178 lbs. I am not out of shape yet over the last year or so I've let myself slip to a level that I am not happy with.

A year ago I was at a 200 bench, untested squat, and I could do 3 miles in just under 17 minutes. I also weighed in at about 153 on any given day.

As of right now I am around a 165 bench and my 3 mile time is somewhere around 21 minutes. I've also put on 20 lbs of fat around the mid section and a little in the butt / chest area.

Basically what happened was I turned 21 and was in an enviroment that wasn't very runner friendly. So, lot's of alcohol and no run. I got fat.

Everyday (That I can get to it) I will update this with body specs as well as mood / body 'feel'. I will also post some pics kind of a before and after type of deal. Maybe once a week?

And keep in mind this is for ‘HotRox Extreme’ For the first week I will be taking a capsule ever 6 hours and depending how I feel at the end of the week I might go to 2 every 12.

So, it begins.

Day 1

I had a fairly major work project that I had to have done by this morning. So Yesterday I got up for work at around 1000 (I work swing shifts) went to the office, got back around 2230 and continued to work. I didn’t finish till about 0630 and had to be in the office again at 1000. So needless to say I was kind of dragging when I came in. But, my HotRox did arrive this morning so I decided to test it out and I popped during work.

Morning weight

Heart rate 63 bpm

I took one capsule at 1200 with 6 oz of water on a fairly empty stomach. I had a sandwich about 2 hours before that.

An hour and a half later I definitely feel like I have a lot more energy. I also have a ‘warm’ feeling throughout my body as well as increased sweating. At first thought that the warm/sweating would be caused by the Niacin in the product. I’ve taken Niacin before and it was one of the biggest things that I noticed about it. So I got to looking at the label again and turns out…there is no Niacin in the Extreme Formula. Huh... so I did a little more checking. Turns out the formulas look a lot different in between the two. I am not a pharmacist or even claim to know that much about what the heck half this stuff is. Could someone give me the low down? Is it the same but different?

At about an hour / two hours into it I was feeling really upbeat, still sweating, and my heart rate was up to about 72bpm.

I had a small roast sandwich with lettuce and banana peppers for lunch. So far my stomach is fine, no jitters or shaking or anything like that.

I’ll edit this later on after I take my 2nd capsule and then again after my workout tonight.


Feel free to leave any questions I’ll answer them the best I can.

Edit:

Took the second capsule about an 45 minutes ago. Same thing as before, I feel really warm as well as full of energy. Kind of like how I feel right after I drink a lot of coffee but not as jittery. Started sweating again but not as bad as last time. Going to be done with work in about 2 hours and then I'll go eat a very small meal and do my work out.

I'm also cutting out all junk food / soda out of my diet. As well as limiting myself to not more then 1 night a week going out to the bars/clubs. I know that for a lot of people simple cutting any and all alcohol out wouild be a HUGE help. I aggree, yet I don't want to give up my nights just yet

As a side note, I plan on using diet/exercise as my main source of losing body fat. I merely wanted to use Hot Rox as a initial boost to the mental part of it. That little mental kick in the right direction if you would.

I started using Hot-Rox Extreme this morning as well. I noticed a slight energy boost and concentration, however i do not really feel the warming effect. I chose Hot-Rox primarily for the Carbolin-19 formula it contains to help fight catabolism while on a slightly below maintenance diet. If it helps with fat loss thats fine with me, but I am not expecting anything too drastic.

Anyway, hope you keep the thread going.

Just got done doing a short work out. Mainly concentrated on shoulders but kept it light.

Was defintiely sweating more then I normally would but I really didn't feel any extra energy during the work out. It seems as if the trick is going to be to start timing my capsules about 20 minutes before my work out.

Dinner.

I came home and had a small can of tuna with some lettuce, a half a tomato, and about two banana peppers. I also added about 7 fat free low sodium saltine crackers to go with this. I was really hungry when I got home, but about 3/4th of the way through my meal I could barely eat anymore. I felt full. That's the reason why I decided to keep the work out short. I just want to kind of tread the waters a little bit before I go all out.

Also, I've decided to cut all processed sugar and 'bad' carbs out of my diet. I know I said something about this earlier but I'm really serious about losing the weight / building the muscle. I've even seriously considered cutting all the alcohol as well. I know that if I really want to see serious result I need to, but at the same time.

We'll see. Tomorrow is another day

Day 2

The scale at work is wrong, most definetly wrong. About two weeks ago I weighed in on a calibrated digital at 178 then when I weighed myself yesterday I work I saw the same thing. No big suprise there right? Well this morning I weighed in on the digital again, 169. Obviously there is no possible way I lost 9 lbs from 36 hours ago. (Well.. water weight maybe, but no.) I actually had a little bit of sleep last night which was amazing. Because of my job sometimes it's difficult to get more then 3-4 hours at a time. Especially right now because we're being inspected by Headquarters.

Woke up at about 0630 and made myself a 12 oz can of tuna with 2 whole banana peppers (sliced), relish, and spicy mustard. I also threw an apple and about half a package of low sodium fat free crackers.

Took my first capsule right at 0700. Definitely felt like I was full of energy. I was a little jittery as well, maybe this is because I took it right after I got up? I'll try 45 minutes after tomorrow.

Got to work and started doing my thing. I never sat down and ate everything I had prepaired all at once. I just kind of snacked on it throughout the day till 1400 which was bad. I really should of consumed a lot more food then that. I think I only ended up taking in about 400-700 calories. I had a physical fitness test that same afternoon which was kind of sprung on me. I currently have a knee injury which doesn't allow me to do any running. About 2-3 weeks ago I could barely walk any distance with out it causing me pain and now I'm to a point where I can bike/swim with almost no problems. Still going to be going to the Ortho later this week though.

Anyway, part of my test is doing pull ups. I took a second capsule at 1400 and changed over. After a lot of BSing I finally got up on the bar at about 1445 and I defintiely didn't feel any extra energy. I actually felt really weak. I normally am able to do 16-18 pull ups but my form has been a little iffy the last little while and I've dropped down to a consistant 15-16.

I did 14 today, and struggled really hard with it. Now, this could be because of the Hot Rox or it could be because of the little amount of calories/carbs I had in my system in the last 24 hours. I'll chalk it up as a combination of both. However what was not normal was the pounding heart that I had after I got off the bar. Quite honestly I was somewhere around 126. After a set of pull ups? Not normal at all for me. This I will contribute to Hot Rox.

So right after that at about 1700 I had about 20-25 grapes, half a cup of sweet corn no salt, a cup of canned green beans with salt drained, and about 8oz of grilled chicken breast and drank 2 glasses of water. I let that sit for about 25 minutes and then went down and did a quick set on chest.

Incline 145 3 sets of 8 (Machine)
Decline 155 3 sets of 8 (Machine)
Flat 145 2 sets, 1 of 8 the other of 7. Last set was 135 and I could only do 7 (Macine as well)

Keep in mind I lean towards the theory of high intensity weight lifting. I only allow myself 30-45 seconds to rest before going into the next set. I feel like it shocks the body more which may or may not be a good thing depending on who you are but I feel like it works for me.

The last set I did was was free weights 40 lbs each hand flat bench. I take the weights and bring my elbows as far out as I can go while keeping my forarms vertical. Then I drop the weight down to chest level. I honestly can't remember what the proper name for this is but for now on I will refer to it as a half-fly (Untill corrected )
3 sets of 8, really struggled on the last 2-3 reps the last 2 sets. Was in the gym for no more then 20-25 minutes tops including a warm up. I also have a heavy bag that I push in between my sets. Reasons? I don't know, I just do. I like to push it all the way out and control the swing back in.

1800 took a nice long shower, drank some water and took a nap. Got up at 2045 and had another half cup of sweet corn and about a cup of mashed potatoes, with butter. (Bad me, I know, trans fat) took my pil about an hour later with water. Definitely felt more alert, not as much sweating this time. ( Oh yeah, really felt warmer/sweated more then usual during that work out.)

Made myself my tuna/ banana pepper/ mix and headed to work. I brought along a 2 liter camel back which I squeezed a lime into after I filled it with water. I think this will help me get over my soda usage. Also, are limes diuretic? I've read that some are.

Unfortunatley I forgot my apple / crackers on my kitchen table on the way in. Looks like I'll be a little hungry when I first get back home.

I've read argument on both sides about eating before you go to bed. So, when I get off work I'll make my tuna again, have some crackers and an apples and consume about 1/4 the can of tuna. That should satisfy my hunger / be about 200-400 calories and about 15 grams of protien.

I'll also take my last capsule at about 0400, right before I get off work. I'll also do some abs, maybe 400 sit ups in a short period... say 15-20 minutes? So far I haven't had any trouble sleeping. I'm also going to fix the scale at work so I can get a better read out.

Right now I've only been really lifting the last week or so with any seriousness / schedule. For the last 2-3 weeks I've been trying to do a 100 pull ups a day. About a month ago I could only do 10 with good form.

Monday- Shoulders and a little back.
Tuesday- Chest / Abs
Wednesday-Back and a little shoulders
Thursday- Arms
Friday- Whatever I feel like I didn't get a good set on earlier / Abs
Saturday / Sunday rest.
I'm not doing any legs right now because of my knee. I also want to try and control my BF% through diet/lifting and try not to rely on cardio so much.

As always, any and all comments about diet / work out are welcome. As well as all questions.

Got home last night at about 0615 or so. I wasn't as hungry as I thought that I might be so I had about a cup and a half of whole grain wheat bran with some cinnamon sprinkled on top for flavor. Unfortunately I don't have any soy / skim milk in my house right now so I had to go with 1.5%. I have tomorrow off so I'm going to sleep till my heart is content.

Just got up, God it's good to finally get more then about 4 hours in.
First thing I did was go get a bowl of whole grain wheat bran again.

I should be eating right as I get up shouldn't I? To get my metabolism going? I'm going to go make my meals for the day in about half an hour and then take my capsule when I'm done. Then I'll wait 5-10 minutes and go do back / shoulders for about 40 minutes.

Like I said earlier, I like high intensity single muscle group exercises.

Could someone comment on my diet so far? I think I'm doing fairly well but I just want to fine tune it even more.

Side note... I know it's not really possible, but I do actually think I can see a little bit of a difference in my stomach area. I know it's just wishful thinking but hey The power of positive thinking right?

Yeah, I had thought about that when I made this name but *shurgs*

So, I'll be out and about for the next couple of days. I won't be able to keep updating this.

Staying fairly consistent about taking the capsules / making sure I'm eating correctly.

I actually had a sip of diet coke today because I wasn't thinking about it. This girl I know was just like here, have some. Bah, the female race will do it to you every time.

Anyway, I haven't been letting my sleep be interrupted so I can take that 4th pill, so I think I am going to move to 2 every 12 hours so I can take them more regularly. Been keeping the diet real nice and clean. No processed sugar, no 'bad' carbs, no soda or beer. 5-6 meals a day at about 200-400 calories a pop. Lots of brown rice, vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, tuna, and peppers. I love my peppers.

I haven't had that warm/ lots of energy feeling in the last day or so. Then again, I haven't been taking my capsule on a completely empty stomach either.

More when I get back.

As always, any comments on my diet are more then appreciated.
