So.. I've wanted to get healthy for a while, but whenever I started I thought 'Hey, I'm fat, nobody expects me to be healthy' and quit, because I didn't have the motivation to continue.
With graduation coming up in six weeks, I've been trying to binge diet/exercise to lose some weight (and more importantly, fat). For breakfast, I eat something small like a muffin or an orange. Eating more than that so early in the morning gives my stomache aches. The next time I eat is when I get home. I usually have a plain white bowl of rice or a sandwich; turkey, lettuce, mustard, cheese, whole-wheat bread. After that, about three to four hours later, I'll eat supper, which is usually some kind of meat (a porkchop, half a chicken breast, something like that) and rice. I drink water all day; usually four to six 250ml bottles. Over the course of the day, I'll spend between 30 and 60 minutes at a time, running. I do this atleast once every day, but sometimes as many as three or four times. This past week, I did it twice every day. I weighed 155 pounds at the beginning of the week. I weigh 154 pounds today, at the end of the week. I'm obviously doing something wrong. I've thought about the problem being in genetics, but I read that genetics don't have a major effect on weight. All of the men in my family are fat, just below the obesity line. My father, for example, works 9 hour days doing golf course maintenance (mowing the greens, sandtrap raking, ect.) and doesn't eat huge amounts of food, but he's still heavy and has a large stomache. Is there anything I can do to lose some weight? Weight training is pretty much out of the question, for lack of availability. |
