Default i need to lose weight..

hey guys, i'm new here. i am completely uncomfortable with my body and since summer is coming around, i've been trying to get back into shape. i really want a flat tummy and smaller legs. i recently became vegetarian and i work out approximately 2 hours a day. i'm barely seeing results so i was wondering what else i needed to do. thanks so much!

How much do you weigh and how much do you want to lose?

What is your current diet like? Are you eating enough (more than 1200 cals a day)?

Are you doing any weight training?

Also...2 hours of cardio a day is too much. Cut back to 20-30 minutes of high intensity 3-4 days a week.

i weigh 118 and i want to get down to about 100. i usually have a protein shake for breakfast, around 10:30 i have a protein bar, for lunch i have fruit, and for dinner i have salads. i'm probably getting 800-1000 cals a day. my workout routine is to run for 30 mins, do 200-500 situps on an incline board and or the ablounge, and then an hour of pilates.

Ok how tall are you?

First off, you are not eating enough. Bare minimum is 1200 cals a day, and even that is too low for 99% of the population.

The 30 minute run sounds ok. But you are highly, highly overtraining your abs. They are just like every other muscle in your body. Only work them once (maybe twice) a week with a solid ab routine. Also, you will not achieve a flat stomach by doing hundreds and hundreds of crunches. Flat tummies come with a strict diet and solid cardio routine.

I'm not too familiar with pilates but if you do that a few hours after your run, you're probably OK.

100 pounds is an unhealthy weight for you. Your ideal weight is somewhere between 120-150 pounds depending on your frame size (and genetics of course). You should concentrate on maybe gaining some muscle mass (dont worry you will NOT look like a man) and having a healthy diet and sound exercise plan.

Thats what a lot of females misconcept. They think by working out they'll get big and have huge muscles but thats not the case. To gain muscle you need testostrone and females don't natrually produce enough to get big.

You know, numbers can mean a lot of things but those numbers sound okay to me....so I can believe that A.) you look fine and can't see it. B). you have a high body fat number that needs to budge and that's why you feel self-conscious. Get your body fat measured and if it's low....well...then it's low. Go to a trainer or a gym or some place where they can measure it for you. It's really hard to do yourself and I have a gizmo at home that says I have 26% body fat, and I swear to god and the one at the gym says 18%. But the important thing is that these scale numbers don't mean so much. ...
