Hey I am new here and I have been doing some reading so I just want to confirm what I suspect might be my pitfall. I am looking to loose a few pounds probably around 10-15. A year ago I was stuck in the mass building funk I was at 217 at 6 feet and and lifting heavy and on d-bol and test. Since then I have cleaned out on the stacks and want to lean out so I have started cardio 5 days a week and resorted to lighter lifting just to keep toned. The first week i started I was 205 and i lost 5 pounds and the 2nd week i lost 2 pounds. Now this week I maintained. My diet is clean and perhaps too clean since I am watching calories like a hawk. I am sitting at 198 and would like to get down to about 180-185. I am burning about 500-600 calories a day walking to and from work and with my cardio and lifting and probably taking in about 1000 calories a day so I think this might be too little. I am eating mostly vegetables, fruit and chicken. Any suggestions on shedding these addition pounds the clean way w/out supplements (for now).
thanks in advance 3m |

well another week has passed and i lost no weight how can this be? may pants seem to be getting bigger but nothing showing on the scale
below is a small summary of my day: 1 cup of oatmeal for breakfast walk 1 mile to the office about 45 min later eat 1-2 pieces of fruit about 1 hour later have a protien bar then cardio and lifting (15 min cardio 35-40 min lifting) right afterwards eat usually chicken salad or chicken soup (equivilant of at leat 8 to 10oz of chicken) also a protien bar afternoon snack either fruit or protien again walk 1 mile home dinner usually between 6-7 again at least 8-10 oz of either chicken, veal, pork or steak and a vegetable putting away 75-100 oz of water a day and workouts feel good i don't feel sluggish i have gone back up in weight for my lifting but i doubt i am gaining that much muscle to compensate for any sort of fat loss i am experienecing no alcohol no eating after 7 so what gives here? thanks in advance 3m |

Ya, the scale can be deceiving. I have gained 1 pound in about 5 months now. Only one pound gained, but my bench press has gone from repping 185 for 3 reps, to 225 for 4 - 6 reps. So, I hav made alot of progress on my lifting, but my weight is basically the same. I have lost 2 inches off of my waist though. So my advice is avoid the scale, if i went by the scale i would of been at a 5 month plateau, which would be depressing, but then I use my tape measurer and caliper, and I see the results.

thanks guys the pants seem to be getting bigger but like the scale the mirror can be giving false readings i feel like i have a huge gut but i guess it can't be that bad my waist is a 32/33
i'm just gonna put the head down and crush for the next 12 weeks before i decide to re-aquaint myself with the mirror and the scale 3m |
