I think I have lost around 8-10 percent. Last Christmas I was 275. I could bench 185 one or two times. I just started eating better and was down to 245 by May. I started lifting in July. I am 232 now, with 20-22% body fat...and my bench has gone from 185x2 to 185x16....that was the first week in december, so Im even stronger now.
So there you go, success story. I am in college, so its even harder than me than it is for most people, because I am doing this eating cafeteria food. I cant even have a stove or grill in my room, so I dont et to cook anything but oatmeal. PLus, dont get discouraged, if I remember correctly, you just started dieting in the last 4 weeks or so, right. Thats not long enough to tell man. Do it a year, and then if you dont see results, get discouraged. LOL, in a year, you should definitely see results. Doing this slow and the right way, will help you more in the long term than like crash dieting or something, just to see immediate results. Just stick with it, its not easy, but the easy things in life dont seem to be worth much. What really matters always seems to be the hardest things. |

Hey, well I dont know what my body fat was or is, but I know it's quite a bit lower than what is was, when I started dieting.
I gained about 100 pounds in 3 1/2 years eating pizza and fastfood everyday in college. I weighed 295 after graduating college, so I decided to go drastic and went for low carb. I now weight 190, so that's a loss of 105 lbs. Not to bad huh It took me roughly 2 years, and that is with breakes. One thing about the low carb diet, you have to take brakes, or you will just go off and start binging. I would go off for Holidays for a few days, when I would visit back home, but after a few days I would get back on it strict. Also, a few times I just decided to go with healthy foods to give my body a rest from the low carb diet. I didnt loose as fast that way, but I did continue to loose. So 2 years 105 lbs. I want to loose about 20 more. |

3yrs ago I lost 87lbs I think, can't remember exactly I'd have to dig out my old log but it was right around there. Over a period of a year. What motivated me? 1 to many times taking off my shirt at the beach and getting laughed at, 50 too many times climbing my basement stairs losing breath, way to many times buying new clothes cause I got fatter, being embarassed to look at myself in the mirror, being capable of wearing my wifes bra's, overall just being phsyically pathetic..pick one!
I just finally removed my head from my asss and quit the train of thought that losing fat was a type of rocket science when it really isn't. I finally decided to apply all I read on forums like these and rearranged the diet, started counting cals, then started cutting cals, then cardio and cardio and cardio, cut a few more cals and cardio cardio cardio..........did I mention cardio and a good diet yet? Sure its hard work but the "game plan" or "strategy" to do so isn't brain surgery.....knowing what to do to achieve the goal isn't hard....its the commitment and dedication with a splash of will power that bites most fatties in the ass including myself, you just have to "nut up" and do it or be fat and develop a happiness with lard. |

Well...I recently have read the forums of this website...ive been using...well...hmm...i started with weighing 96kgs due to my ultimate diet plan of 6 SQUARE MEALS A DAY!...I had a body fat percentage of 22%
Now, today my percentage is 10.5% and my objective is 8%. My weight is 80kgs. I have achieved this in a matter of 4 to 5 months of proper training and diet control. Im proud to be now known as one of the body builders of my class. Anything is possible, all one needs is determination and focus. Anyway peace out homies, Dr. D |

Okay, here's the first 38 weeks of my weight loss progress...
I will point out, that I lost my first 80 pounds completely naturally.. no drugs.... I did use some eca after that.. but soon found I didn't like it.. and I don't use it no more. I started on atkins.. gota love it... It let me eat very enjoyable foods at a time, when I just wasn't ready to eat chicken breast and egg whites all the time.. plus the atkins diet works well for very over weight individuals. I worked a 3 day split.. in the max ot principles.. more or less. I did cardio 5-6 days a week.. every morning before work... first walking and eventually jogging the streets of my neighborhood, at 5:00am. I made alot of strength gains during.. even though i ran at the time what I know now to be a bit extreme in terms of calories... 1500-2000 calories a day... but I feel someone of extreme fatulance, can easily produce the energy deficit from fat reserves... and I gota tell you I was had stupendous amount of energy during this time.... As time went on though, I switched from atkins, to more of a body builders diet, aimed at growing and maintaining muscle mass... And unfortunately since then, my weight hasn't really gone down, and in fact it flucuates up and down... currently up. But my muscle mass grows steadily. only other thing I keep kicking myself over, is that I've been cheating far to often and frequently.. that it makes real fat almost impossible... but I don't want to loose the muscle..It's frustrating. I may institute a bigger calorie deficit once more in the future... hmmm Quote:

I don't know what percentage of body fat I lost, but I went from about 290 to 200 between last June and now. I severely cut down on the junk food, ate a reasonable balanced diet without limiting my choices, and tons of cardio. I ride my bike to work M-F (8 miles r/t), walk 2 1/2 miles M-F, and hike 4-10 miles at least once a weekend.
Now I've started to work out again, and I'd like to bulk up to 215 or so. I had my body fat tested and it's currently 22%. I'd like to get my body fat down to 12-15% and add 15-20 lbs of muscle. I'm just starting phase two of my journey. |

guess ill post mine. Not too long ago i was in a serious car accident. Was in a coma for a week, had a rib thru the lung, and was overall just banged up. Before going into the coma i was bout 200lbs, and like 5'8, i was in highschool at the time. After getting out i found myself unable to move very far or very fast and i quickly put on another 20 lbs cause i started intaking solid foods again. That christmas i received The Encyclepedia of Bodybuilding, by Arnold, and it changed me. Now, i weight 180, im 5'10, and i can put up in the neighborhood of 400 on the bench. I am currently working on acheiving my six pac but there is still a thin layer of fat on my abs i need to work off. Thats my story.

Last year I decided to get in really good running shape in order to make the track team at college. I went from 150 to 115 in about 6 months. I ran 15 minutes a day or about 2 miles and never drank a soda or ate fried foods. Now, I am bulking back up and I am back to 135. I have went through a lot of change in this last year.

I have gone from 7% body fat about three years ago to 19% body fat now. From 188lbs to 205lbs. It's all in my gut. I've worked out off and on over the past three years, but instead of playing football, I now play poker for a living. Defiantely not enough cardio.

5 months ago I weighed 230 and now I weigh 180. From 23% bodyfat to 13% bodyfat. I did cardio 4 days a week M/W/F/Su.
Starting off with the treadmill for 10 minutes (5.0mph) then move to the life cycle thing (kinda like the gazelle thing from TV) for 10 minutes. Lastly, stairmasters for another 10 minutes since this is the last cardio workout I would try go all out on it; atleast level 10-13. It did this cycle for about 6 weeks and change your routine. Hopefully this routine can help you lose some weight! |
