Default Shoulder Pain from dips and bench

Hey guys, Im an avid lifter and about 3-4 weeks ago I was doing weighted dips with 70 lbs on a belt I did this no problem for multiple sets and continued my upper body workout with bench etc. Days later during my next workout I noticed a very sharp and acute pain on the front of my shoulder. I did a set of bench but it hurt so bad I felt like I should stop and not risk further injury. The strength is there and I could lift the weight if my life depended on it, but it is a terrible pain. Since then I have been able to do bis tris and some back without any pain. After two weeks of rest from chest and overhead excercises I attempted to bench again only to be met by the same pain, but only when I perform the excercise. I have not done upperbody since 3-4 wks ago besides the one set I attempted two weeks ago. I have lost considerable size since then I am can not stand not being able to lift. It feels fine now, but I do not even want to attempt chest because I dont know how its going to respond to the excercise. Does anyone know what this is, and how long of rest I should expect? (Im at college now and getting an MRI or going to the doctor is out of the question for some time) Thanks.

I've recently experienced this. Only thing that can help (besides going to a doctor) is rest, ice, and gradually get back into the heavier weights. Start out with push ups and move up to more and more as you feel comfortable. You don't want to push it too hard for a long term injury...
