Default Biking problem

I like to take ride bike with my GF but after 1 minute my quad's get's hard and burn like crazy and become numb a litle and I lose a lot of strenght in it. After I finsih the ride everything come back to normal except that they are still sore a litle!

I don't get this! I squat with no problem but I cant do a litle bike without my leg burning !

Anybody knows why I experience this?

Have you checked your riding position, saddle height etc?

It's probably a simple thing like that that's causing the discomfort.

This. Make sure the bike fits you. Also if you haven't done any distance riding in awhile you might have to ease back into it.

It's all about endurance - squats are good for explosive strength but bike riding will wipe them out if you haven't done it for a while.

I get the same thing.

There are some good recommendations in here. First off - check this site or another like it:

Bike Fit - Proper Bike Fit Can Prevent Pain and Injury

Next - as mentioned - biking is vastly different from doing squats or leg presses. One will help the other though.....I can attest to that. Biking is 90% of my cardio, I bike anywhere from 30-60 miles a week on average.

Learn to utilize the gears to your advantage depending on the terrain you're on as well, ---- if you're riding for pleasure, it should be easy and comfortable, and you should be coasting quite a bit. If you are riding for a workout - it should be constant peddling, and you should be feeling resistance at all times.

Road bike or mountain bike?.............that matters too.
