A golf swing is almost the same thing as a baseball swing, it's just on a different plane of axis and I when I find myself getting "armsy", it's usually because I am standing too tall in my stance. I bet your stance is pretty tall right? You need to work on setting up in a more "athletic" stance to enable you to use more of your core. Bend at the knee's, stick your butt out, head up, back straight, twist at the core like winding up a spring. Haha, easier said than done
So far as stengthening your core, look into core training. Squats and deadlifts should assist this in a major way along with some accessory work for the hips (adductors/abductors), of course combined with other core work.
