Arrow How long?

I can feel a strain between the side of my chest and left shoulder, it starts to hurt more when i bench, so I'm thinking I probably tore something. Wondering how long I should rest from lifting?

In your underarm area? Lats?

The word 'strain' makes it sound like its only minor discomfort at this point. Take a week off and then try again with lighter weight to make sure its healed. Most likely its just a tweak or stretch. You'd feel far more discomfort than just a strain if its torn.

Is it here?

If so, thats your chest still, side pec area

Or is it here?

If it's here or slightly below, this is in the area of the Serratus muscle.

Nice visual aide BGLD!

What's up!

As for the topic at hand...I agree...Take a week off and then start back light. If there is no change then you could possibly need medical attention. If it still hurts, but has improved then I would probably take another week off. Just do some squats until then to tide you over!
