Default Upper back pain... & hi again!

Hey guys haven't been on for ages, was mainly over at worldofmuscle.co.uk but then it closed, and also my life got a lot busier lol. So hi to all of you and especially to those who were at worldofmuscle.co.uk, hope you are all doing good.

I will hopefully find the time to come on this forum more.

So heres my problem, I've had a search for this one but couldn't really find anything I feel is relevant to me. Also though the injury to my back wasn't due to directly (or even in directly working it!)

I'll start from the top...

I was down the gym last Saturday working legs, did squats, leg press and then I got on to using the calf machine as my last exercise. Photo here... http://www.fit-senior.com/acatalog/cl95710n.gif

Placed the pin at 133kg to do 8 reps, first set was fine but on the second set about half way through I dont really know what happened but I got a very sharp pain in the left side of my upper back (near the lat.)

I don't know if my posture went funny meaning the shoulder pads like pushed down squashing that part of my back?? It was really hurting the rest of the day, I had a hot bath and took ibuprofen, next day it hurt as well but I kept trying to have baths and taking ibuprofens. Also got my other half to keep massaging it. By Tuesday it seemed ok, I went to the gym to do back and biceps, didn't want to set it off again so only did like half the workout and kept it slightly lighter.

But obviously not light enough as come Wednesday morning it was hurting again, been hurting all week, but it's just about ok today, I was going to go do some squats and a lil bit of chest and shoulders but I've decided not to risk it.

Anyone know what it might be and if it would be best for me to rest for a while? I hurt my arm back in May arm wrestling and it took months to go.

Cheers guys.

By the sound of it's a pulled muscle. Best advice is to let it heal for 7-10 days then start lifting very light
Also, keep off ibuprofens as much as possible and only use it as need it because it slows healing
Welcome back!

Hey, okay will do.

Haven't had ibuprofen for a few days now. Did chest, shoulders & triceps at the gym yesterday, back seemed okay. Should I do any stretches or anything to help?? And how long do you think I should train light for? I was really hoping to get back in to a proper bulk from about now until end of April, then start cutting (I know end of April sounds quite late to start but I found I shed it easy when I did it last year.)
