Default More soreness in gluts than quads?

It wasnt too long ago that i started to seriously incorperate legs into a weekly routine. It seems to me that my gluts are always more sore than my quads. I do smith machine squats, leg presses, quad and hamstring machines among other things and my gluts are always more sore. Any suggestions as to why?

maybe ur feet position are too far forward from ur body. Or it's just more sore because it's not as strong. When u said more sore, it means ur quad does feel sore too right? Either way, soreness is not an indication of the muscles being worked or not. post a vid would b best.

they are your weakest link.... you say you have only just started really working the legs, glutes get hit hard as they are the largest muscle on the human body.

give it two-three weeks and it will change

Where's the real squats? No leg training should be complete without them.

Yea, my quads get sore too, its just that they are never as sore as my gluts. Im building up to real squats. it wont be long before they are incorporated. I guess you can say that im kind of intimidated by them. I guess im scared of biting off more than i can chew and getting hurt. But i do know the importance of them.

Just use really light weight at first to get for down. Don't rush it. And definitely go all the down, keep back straight, look up, push with your heels.
