1. Don't do it if it hurts
2. Take 2 weeks off, If it still hurts see a sports Doctor

no one on this site is a doctor (at least that i know of). why not go to the doctor instead of coming on here asking for a diagnosis and treatment?

because of the fact that this section is entitled
http://www.bodybuildingforyou.com/fo...scle-soreness/
and i got my injury during training which i beleive makes it sport related...

therefore i wished to discuss my SPORT RELATED INJURY and try to see if anybody had experienced the same feeling....

all a doctor knows is what he reads from a book... i thought some of you people would have had first hand experience thats all!

All a doctor knows is what he reads in a book... That is the dumbest thing i have read on here yet. You do realize, a sports specialist treats problems like this on a daily basis, right? Anyways... like they said, stop for a few weeks, if it still hurts go see an AT or a specialist.

i understand what you are saying but all everyone is going to tell you is go see a doctor. you have a sore elbow. could be from many, many different things. doctors know more than what they read in books. he can take xrays, MRIs etc.. plus like papsmruf said they deal with this stuff everyday. he may know what is wrong as soon as you describe what you were doing when you hurt it.

Most likely tendons - pretty common if you overdo it. Ace makes a brace for tennis elbow - without it I can't do anything heavy that involves the biceps - curls, pulldowns, rows, you name it.

You wrap the brace around your arm just below the elbow before you lift. It puts pressure on the tendon. Try it and if you find that it helps, then it's most likely tendonitis. It's also a pretty cheap fix. I've also had a couple cortisone shots when it gets real bad, but I can avoid the problems by wearing the brace.

good luck !

What do you think a sports specialist is? Thats what i meant by doctor. Obviously, a family physician might not know exactly how to treat it, but he would do the same thing- refer you to a sports specializing DOCTOR. Since when does doctor only mean the guy who grabs your balls while you cough?

you could be overtraining your smaller muscles, which have smaller joints that can't handle what the bigger muscles with bigger joints can... try going easy on your arms for a while a month or so. see what happens

It's very possible that it's a tricep exercise you're doing. Like the others suggested, see a doctor. A family prac should be able to tell what's wrong, and if not, they'll refer you to a specialist, probably an orthopedist (everyone in medical school goes on rotations so they have at least a little experience in every field).

Don't ever think for a second a doctor reads some books, and gets a license to practice medicine. They see patients in and out for years along with bookwork and cracking open dead bodies and a lot of other things you can't even imagine.

About anyone here being a doctor, give me 6 years to finish school...
