All a doctor knows is what he reads in a book... That is the dumbest thing i have read on here yet. You do realize, a sports specialist treats problems like this on a daily basis, right? Anyways... like they said, stop for a few weeks, if it still hurts go see an AT or a specialist.

Most likely tendons - pretty common if you overdo it. Ace makes a brace for tennis elbow - without it I can't do anything heavy that involves the biceps - curls, pulldowns, rows, you name it.
You wrap the brace around your arm just below the elbow before you lift. It puts pressure on the tendon. Try it and if you find that it helps, then it's most likely tendonitis. It's also a pretty cheap fix. I've also had a couple cortisone shots when it gets real bad, but I can avoid the problems by wearing the brace. good luck ! |

What do you think a sports specialist is? Thats what i meant by doctor. Obviously, a family physician might not know exactly how to treat it, but he would do the same thing- refer you to a sports specializing DOCTOR. Since when does doctor only mean the guy who grabs your balls while you cough?

It's very possible that it's a tricep exercise you're doing. Like the others suggested, see a doctor. A family prac should be able to tell what's wrong, and if not, they'll refer you to a specialist, probably an orthopedist (everyone in medical school goes on rotations so they have at least a little experience in every field).
Don't ever think for a second a doctor reads some books, and gets a license to practice medicine. They see patients in and out for years along with bookwork and cracking open dead bodies and a lot of other things you can't even imagine. About anyone here being a doctor, give me 6 years to finish school... |
