Default Hernia or what?

Last year I was working a construction job and reached down at an angle to slide a few bundles of condiut over about a foot or so. It wasn't all that heavy but I noticed right in the crease where my inner thigh meets the crotch I felt a little burning and a slight tugging pain. It eased off, but came back a little the next morning, I went to the doctor, he groped around, made me cough, and said it was just a strain.

About 3 or 4 months after I began noticing when I lift weights, and then fail to lift for several days, a thin strip about an inch or 2 below my navel will be really tender, and burn. Also, above both testicles will burn, and be sore to the touch from the front.

If I work out everyday the pain is less noticeable, or nonexistent. I recently took a trip to China and didn't work out for well over a month and the pain stopped all together. Since I've been back and tried to resume working out, the pain has returned, it feels sorta like a cross between being punched in the arm and being burnt with warm water or a cigarette at times.

Any ideas?

I don't know if it's a hernia - maybe go see your doc again. I've never had one (that I know of) so I can't comment on it. Could just be a strained muscle, or maybe it's a nerve? The sciatic can cause troubles there, but that usually starts with back pain and shoots down the leg.

That certainly sounds like a hernia to me. I had something similar and that is what the doctor told me. Not a huge deal, just talk to the doc and he will tell you to take it easy with lower body movements where you over-exert yourself, i.e. squats (unfortunately enough). But once again get an M.D. opinion on that.
