Default my joints-supplement help?

What can I take for my joint health? After I go running I feel like a crickety old lady, my hip joint hurts. I've seen mention of supplements to help, but I can't remember the name. Help me please.

USP Labs Cissus and Super Cissus have gotten a lot of good reviews for helping bad joints, tendons and that kind of stuff. I have wanted to try it but right now I cannot get any in Canada and shipping it up from the States can be pricey, especially if I get dinged at customs. Everyones been talking about it on AM for the longest time and I believe a few people here have tried it as well.

I've tried it, my joints feel better but I don't know if it's the cissus or just that I'm spending money on something to heal my joints so I'm not longer engaging in the activities that bringme pain.

Yep Cissus or Super Cissus have had great reviews Hanna. Might be just the shot you need. I haven't tried it yet. Once I am done with my bottles of fish oil, glucosamine/chondroitin, & Collagen +C, I am going to give Super Cissus a try. I think Jlo is taking Super Cissus. Not sure though...

The only Glucosamine worth taking is sulphate.

1000mg Daily for a few weeks and you should start to feel a bit of Difference Hanna.

SuperCissus is more of the anabolic side of Cissus versus the medicinal side. There ketosterone levels are higher so it is more for muscle-building.
I would suggest buying bulk cissus and just mixing in with protein or cap it yourself.

Hannainnc:
I've been taking a glucosamine supplement by Inholtra for a while now. These kinds of supplements don't heal anything; rather, they lubricate the joint so that there's lesser risk irritation/inflamation/injury. Are you feeling hip pain/soreness during your runs as well? How far do you run and how often. You may just need to take a break from running for a bit and cross train (e.g., biking, elliptical machine).

I hurt my hip when I upped my mileage and speed -- i.e., classic case of too far, too fast, too soon. After being sidelined for a LONG time, I'm back to 35-40 mi/wk but I'm taking it slow. I feel like the supplement helped to keep my hip injury at bay. I took it for a couple of months and then stopped for a couple months to gauge how my body felt with it and without it. I discovered that without it, my hip was more prone to soreness, more easily so I decided to keep taking this supplement... Hope this helps and ease off on the running!!!

Best prevention for running-related injuries: 1)take it slow -- you should be able to talk or sing while running; 2) increase mileage no more than 10% of your weekly mileage; 3) wear appropriate running shoes -- get fitted at a running store (even if you're only running once a week!). Sorry this is so long! Oh yeah! One more thing: icing the sore spot helps!

well I took a few weeks off from running regularly....vacation and then just felt like not running. I started back up last week and the hip pain has come back a bit. Not as bad as before. I am doing only like 10 miles a week now...3 miles 3x a week. Prior to the break I was running 16-20 miles a week.

I think I'm just an old woman.

If you're getting the soreness even after having taken some time off from running, I really think you should go see a doctor since it could be caused by a number of things (I'm guessing hip bursitis). I also think you might want to stop running altogether until the doc checks you out. Hope you get better soon!

why is the sulfate the better one... i think the other ones nitrate and hydrochloride? I have hydrochloride and it is seeming to work.

I think they are just counter ions anyways no effect on the action of the glucosamine?

I sell hydrolyzed collogen at the store i work for...

I have a few customers who swear by it, case it claims to help rebuild collegens and tissues inside the body,....

I also know they does it with msm for helping rebuild and repair tissues, Devilz claw and white willow bark

Have you tried basic glucosamine chondroitin? While it won't cause regenerative growth to cartilage (as least most studies disprove this), it has been shown to greatly decrease joint pain and protect joint break-down overtime.

It is pretty cheap and you can find it at almost any store with a pharmacy.

I used to take glucosamine chondroitin and msm and it helped my knee pain. A couple of weeks ago I started running again, but all I had was MSM. I haven't had any noticeable difference, and i've been taking it for about 5 weeks.

I have posted this into a other thread already, but it seems this one is better.
I received the hydrolyzed collagen yesterday.
They recommend to use it before bed time but I was trying it afternoon.
It smells like nothing. So I put a tablespoon in to a glass of water. Stir it and it solved in seconds. It looks also clear like a sport water drink i.e. Gatorate.
Smells still like nothing. Tasted just a little bit, but can not descibe how.
Till now I really can recommend it and the price is also pretty good.

Let's see how it works in about 6 weeks but I really in good hope with that.
