Default Elbow tendonitis

I am a 71 year old female. I like to exercise with dumbells and a home exercise machine. My problem is chronic tendonitis of the right elbow, which I understand is easier to get as you age. When I flex my arm I can feel the tendon snapping over the bone. Are there any exercises for biceps that will not cause this to happen?

Have you asked the doctor ? There are some exercises that might help avoid tendonitis. Hold your arm still, make a fist, and try to rotate your fist in circles to loosen things up. Squeezing a small "stress ball" can help too. I just recently got a cortisone shot in my left elbow to help it heal faster. But I don't feel the snapping that you describe. I stopped doing curls because of the pain I was causing. I do upper back exercises like rows and pulldowns, which work the biceps too.
