Default arm/shoulder lapse

Ohk well this has never happened to me before but on monday, during my 2nd to last set which was 175 x 2, on the 2nd one my left arm seriously just seemed like it just gave up and the bench started to lower drastically on my left side (good thing i had a spotter) so then on weds, which was the next day for my program i got to my last set which is 185 x 1, and the same thing happened. my friend said it is called a LAPSE he believes but wasnt sure does anyone know anything about this or why it happened?

This is a bench press max I am assuming?
Any pain?

Yeah, if you are going to push up the bar and you start going up and your body(arms) just "give up" and you cant finish the rep, you are lapsing.

I suggest bumping the weight down some, and do more shoulder excercises to strengthen and prevent any lapses from occuring.

just drop 5 lbs.

2/12 on each side.

Why are you repping so heavy(for you)? just curious. Doing rep maxes all the time isnt gonna get you very far in this gig.
