Do you think jumping rope will help and does anyone know any free programs I won't have to pay for?

Sorry for the late reply, but I would suggest playing basketball a lot if you have your own rim. I had an adjustable rim and started out at touching rim at 9 feet and within one summer I was dunking on 10. But I was playing nearly everyday and always seeing how high I could jump between any little breaks in gameplay. Mind you, at the time I was 17, white, and only 5'7", 140 pounds. So, it can be done. Air Alert 2 would probably help you a lot, but I've never personally tried it and can't recommend something I never tried.

i totally agree with jumping rope and owning some ankle weights.
Air alert 2 is also a great program. i added 16 inches with that one summer. im a 5' 10" point gaurd in 9th grade and i can dunk. (did i also mention that im white? )i got the program for free whereas others pay for it. if u have a peer to peer file sharing program suck as limewire or kazza or bearshare, it should be easy to find something on there.
i found the program when i did a google image search on air alert 2. i dont remember where it exactly is, but browse through and i assure u that u will find it. ur weight shouldnt be a problem with u being 6 foot. just play basketball as much as you can and try to get your ankles and calves stronger in the weight room.
hope this helps. tell me if u find it and message me in the future and tell me you gains. good luck.
