Default Pain in Forearms

I was working my biceps the other day and started having pain in my forearms when doing barbell curls (not ez bar, just a straight barbell).

The pain felt like it was in the bones of my forearms, specifically closer to my wrists and on the outside edge of my arm.

By my last set I felt like my biceps could still pull the weight, but I had to stop cause of the pain.

Anyone experience this before? What could this be from?

Bump that adjust your grip , look at where your hands are in ratio to your elbows usually I get that pain if my hands are alot wider that my elbows

When I first started curling I got that pain everytime I would curl and it would stick around for a few days. After a few weeks, the pain went away. Just a few weeks ago I made some killer gains in my curling and the pain came back. The pain came back but now it starting to go away again. I guess it just takes time to adjust to the weight.

Hey guys, this might be a little late... I found this board when I searched for "forearm pain lifting." Thought I had stress fractures or something, so I'm glad to see this is pretty common. I used to get this all the time when I first started lifting, but I'd do a light full-body workout 3x a week, something I know not to do now. I think the problem really got bad because I was always overworking my bi's. This week, I really over did them to make up for a missed workout, then arm wrestled a friend. I've been thinking I was gonna die of the pain all week. Anyway, has anyone noticed if this happens more when doing hammer curls? The pain seems to be coming from the brachioradialis....

omg finally people with my problem! ok guys- i really need help with this. lately its got really bad. My problem is EXACTLY like brain's. The pain is like on the outer bone of the forearms...its progressively got worse and is now at the point where any curling hurts a lot, and doing nearly any exercise aggrivates it a little....any pressure on the forarms really...and its started to hurt after the gym as well.....what could it be ???????? Also, what bicep exercises could I do that dont put much stress on the forearms?

The ones that really hurt it:
DB Curls - 17.5KG - 6 reps
EZ Bar Curls - 15KG - 6 reps

Those ones KILL me forearms....but every exercise now aggrivates them a bit....and now thet hurt when im not even in the gym

have they always hurt during exercise
how many days do you work out
whats a typical daily workout for you
give as much information as you can

can you curl more with one hand than you can with both or is it that the pain start at those weights

one exercise you can try is hammer curls

http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/excer...ammercurls.htm

palms stay facing each other during curl

They havent always hurt no. I used to be able to do dumbel curls with no pain like this. I work out 3 days a week:

Mondays - Chest/Triceps
Wednesdays - Biceps/Back
Fridays - Shoulders/Legs

For Biceps I usually do DB Curls, EZ Bar Curls, Cable Curls and some Curls using the curling machine. Its the EZ Bar Curls that really hurt my forearms. My right arm is the weaker arm and is where the pain is...hammer curls seem to aggrivate it as well....its getting to the point where I cant curl without a great deal of pain :'(

I can telll you this I used to get alot of pain in my forearms until I changed my grip on the EZ bar either to wide or to close together

you also might wanna try doing biceps on a different day than with your back alot of back movements involve the forearms and biceps
I know the old standard of chest and tri back and bi

but try switching it up giving your biceps as much rest as possible

something like

mon - back/ legs
wed - chest/ tri
fri - shoulder/biceps

there could be alot of different reasons for this pain but if you are positive that you have not injured yourself you might really want to try to switch it up for a bit

I have been having this pain in my right forearm for the last 4 years or so!
It's killing me! I just wonder what it is? Just like someone here mentioned, it feels like there are stress fractures or something, I still force my self to lift....
Does anyone have any idea exactly what this pain is????/

Might be something to do with a compression of the blood vessels due to an overpump ?

I still get it now and again, especially near the end of the workout when my arms are so gorged with blood I'm guessing the drainage just isn't adequate ?

Perhaps tendinitis could be the answer?
Because mine hurts for days afterwards.......
I know there are some ligiments between the bones, and lots of things that could be injured....

it moat likely is beacuse the ligments in your wrists are too weak. I had to go to a doctor for this. A good therapy to fix the problem, is get a bucket of rice, jam your hand into it and squeeze the rice. it will make your wrists much stronger. It is an excersice Roger Clemens does for the same problem.
