ok well im pretty confused on how long i should wait to work the same muscle group again ive heard just wait a day ive also heard once a week.... anywho right now im doin.

Mon-Chest,Tris,Abs
Tues-off
Weds-Back,Legs

If you're doing a three day split then you definitely need to be splitting up back and legs. Ideally, you want atleast 48 hours between muscle groups but many would argue 24 is sufficient yet others will say aim for 72. Just don't work the same muscle groups back to back and you'll be fine.

Remember, that just because you aren't targetting a muscle group, doesn't mean it isn't being utitlized.

Do something like:

Mon: Chest/Tris
Wed: Legs/Shoulders
Fri: Back/Bis

That is 48 hours rest your shoulders should get from your chest workout the previous Monday. Ultimately, you need to get in touch with your own body and decide how much time it takes for you to recover.

Recovery time varies depending on age, diet, drugs etc...

Generally work each group once a week

Abs id go 2-3x a week, Many will argue and say "Its a muscle too, it needs its recovery time n blah blah blah" I call bullsh*t on that. When your getting beat to hell on a humid island for 3 months doing abs everyday and you see fantastic results, i dont think working it out 2 - 3x a week is going to do harm. What I would suggest is off days do Abdominals, or if you do them on your workout days mon/friday do weighted ab workouts, and wednesday just do bodyweight with high reps. But hey, its all the individual.
