Sprints, and if your talking about strictly bodyweight exercises that will help you, pullups/chinups/dips/crunchs/body weight squats with a vertical jump. Those I would do even with my weights.

Ofcourse add in some cleans/snatchs for some power.

I dont really know what you mean. As far as agility, your football program should cover most of your sprint/agility movements, so im going to say your best bets are just stuff like pullups and dips and squat jumps.

All you really need to do in the off season is some sprints(don't go crazy though) ,some footwork drills and hit the weights. The main idea of the off season, especially for a linebacker, is to get bigger and stronger. I say don't go to crazy with the sprints because in the off season you really really wanna concentrate on gaining size.

I did speed ladder, bags, cones, dot drills for 10-15 mins of agility work when I played football and also played linebacker. Though we did it as a team in our off-season lifting program. Doesn't your team have a off-season lifting program?

I recommend buying a pair of strenght shoes if you really want to improve on speed, agility and explosion. I used those and went from around 4.84 to a 4.59 40 yard dash over my years of playing football using those shoes.

A medicine ball might prove useful as well. I'm going to begin incorporating that into my training soon. Hey, you never know... it might be a good idea Look into it! If you do consider it, I wouldn't go with anything more than a 10 lber. (Do they even make them any heavier than 10 lbs.?)

Yeah i've seen med balls up to 20lbs. Our football coach would have us after each set of bench take a med ball and lay on a flat bench then in a bench motion throw the ball up, someone taps it back down to you and then repeat for 12-15 reps.

I see...sort of like a superset. I prefer to stick to a lower rep range with medicine balls but either way, medicine balls are pretty good tool when incorporated into a program in the right way. They're underrated and underused IMO

linebacker? youll need to gain a little more explosive power than what youd get from bodyweight excersises alone. if your interested i can PM you some plyrometric excersises that are sport specific to your needs. other than that focus on alot of core, deadlifts, rows, benching, and squats. no need for anything else if your training for a sport as opposed to looks. itll take alot of work but itll be worth it come training camp and your laying out some ****ers.
