i can't afford a bench atm so i just make do with a table on the end of my bed (dont laugh)
so my question is am i missing out on much by not being able to do the incline bench press?

Yes and no.

Yes in the sense that you are missing the benefits of being able to hit the muscles from different directions.

No in the sense that in the short term you can make do without untill you can afford a bench.

Can you take the legs off the table and rest it at an angle? that might be an idea.

Well how much weight are you able to press with this get up of yours?

If it's not more than your own body weight or even close to it, I'd sat fvck it!
Toss it out for old school push ups....You will get much more of an effective workout with push ups over what you got.

Also you can put your feet up on a chair to vary the position.

Just my opinion buddy

push ups are VERY underrated.... try explosive pushups, with the goal being to explode as far off the ground as you can, also known to some as "clap" pushups, if your are looking for something a little different as well.

You are not going to be missing out on that much. Yes, its definitel nice to have an incline bench available, but not "necessary". Just stick to a SAFE, regular old, flat bench for bench press.

Thanks for the replies guys
I can bench 135 atm and i weigh 155 so ill probably stick to what I'm doing now and throw in some clap push ups - they seem more intense.

3 sets to failure. My opinion only but all Bodyweight exercises should be done to failure for each set unless you are just warming up a muscle group.

Definitly. Try to get 3 sets of 10. If you can do that, add more weight. I do

1 set with 25 to failure (10 or so)
1 set w/ 10lbs to failure (8 or so)
1 set bodyweight to failure
