Default Tips about losing belly fat?

Hi, i am 130lbs 5'3''

i started working out this january and am still keeping up.
i used to do ab workout for thirty minutes every other day.
however, cause of my busy schedule, i have not been able to do the regular ab workouts that i do since 2-3months ago.

either way, i felt my abs getting stronger. the ab workout really did make my ab muscles stronger but did not take off excess fat.

i was just wondering what are some ways to get this belly fat off?

Diet and cardio, you can't spot reduce fat.

two words: cross country.

But seriously, i tried spot reducing just the way you did. Sooner you see that you can't, the better. Most people at your school probably don't know you can't really spot reduce, and you'll have better looking abs in half the time that it takes/has taken them.

Couldn't be said any plainer! Bump^^

Doing 3000 situps will NOT help you lose fat. The processes are related but completely different. If you have your diet dialed in and you are excuting a good work out routine, you will build lean muscle and take off fat! The more mucle you build (over your entire body) the more fat you will burn. Diet is 80% of the battle here. It will feed muscle growth and repair and help you burn fat.

Encorporate some knee-ups in your abdominal workout

build the ab muscles with ab workouts. heavier will be better for actually increasing the muscle size. diet and cardio will then take the fat off the top of the muscle. Here is what i think is the best ab exercise ever: cable crunches. I never see too many people doing them and I never see girls doing em but they really are great. You can really feel them targeting the abs.

Exactly. You will need to really clean up your diet and go into a slight caloric deficit (take in less calories than your body needs to maintain its current weight) and keep up the cardio.

I have been doing a 3day a weak lifting schedule (doing all compound lifts) and doing some pretty intense cardio on every non-lifting day of the week and have managed to cut a decent amount of fat and keep my muscle mass solid while gaining a little strength.

Diet it key though. Count calories for a few days to see how much you are eating and start changing your diet around.

the only way you're going to lose fat is to diet and run every day of the week. and if you want go ahead and some some crunches, but basically eat healthy and run as much as you can.

You don't have to run every day of the week, you don't have to run at all. Just do some cardio of some type the more intesity the better, aka running, a couple of times a week. You can loose fat walking if thats the best you can do. I walk on a treadmill varing the incline from 0 to max in 2 minute incriments in 4 different stages and it works fine for me. I don't run because of my knees and I'm doing quite well.

true you can walk too, but i find running a lot more helpful than walking would. if you want go swimming and jump roping, **** you could even do stationary bike if you wanted to :P

yes running is great. Everyone should run. i love competing. I think it makes you stronger and more disciplined. I dont see why people get fat then say, "oh...maybe i should start running. run before you get fat to keep you from getting fat." I think it is harder to run once you already are fat. so prevent it and form good habits.

Spot reduction works, but not in the way that you think.

Obviously if your muscles get bigger, the fat is more spread out because your muscle surface area increases. This results in a lower BF%, even though you have the same amount of fat.

Example:

I have a set amount of paint. If I use the paint to paint a huge room, the thickness of the paint won't be very much. But, if I use the paint to paint a small room, the paint will be thicker.

Thats not true. Fat isnt like paint, you cant push it to other parts of your body. Spot reduction DOES NOT WORK. Making the muscle bigger can make it more visible, but spot reduction is a MYTH
