Little background about myself:
I'm fairly fit, 130 lbs, 5'11" and 15 years old. I play tennis a lot, and in most sports speed is my asset. I need to get stronger, and i also want to look better for this summer. (superficial, which i hate...but it's the truth and i'm sick of schmucks looking better than i do). I also run high school cross country, which is pretty intense. Goals Be stronger in my core, for off balance shots in tennis Stronger legs, to run faster and jump higher Better physical appearance, partly motivation and partly superficial (i'm sorry!!!) I've been doing on-and-off ab workouts for like a year...and i can see my abs but there's definitely fat on top of them, and the grooves i'd like to have aren't there just yet Would doing a 4 day split be too easy for me? I don't really need to lift legs as cross is a good workout for them. I eat VERY clean, with >5 water bottles a day and a protein shake in the morning, after lifting, and before bed. Breakfast is an egg+ham sandwich on a whole grain piece of toast. Thanks in advance! |

Ok i know this probably sounds really stupid, and i sound like an idiot for asking..cuz I'm not new to lifting weights at all, but whats a 4 day split or whatever? It's just I've never done it so i don't know what it is...is it that you go to the gym in the morning and afternoon 4 days a week..?

Alright, thanks guys. I think i'll keep the four day, and just keep doing what i'm doing. I'm the leader of the JV cross country team (sophomore) and i'm starting to run with the big guys. It's leaving me pretty sore, but the whey helps like no other. I also drink accelerade during events when i get a chance.
I'm running sub 21 minute 5ks now, but i'm going to be in the 19s by the end of the season. Oh, and i forgot to mention, that for 18 weeks of the school year i'll have a class called fitness and weight training...where i get full access to the school's weight room 4 days a week. It's the reason i'm doing a 4 day split. |
