Default gaining back some weight

welll hmm, quite strange, not intirely sure, but i thought i'd post here.

Anyway, i used to weigh about 200 pounds (i was a fatass, yes 35% BF). Last summer i lost about 25 pounds, and right now i'm at about 168 and it fluctuates up and down a couple of pounds (water weight, i imagine). Anyway, for some strange reason, no matter how much i eat (or don't) i cannot gain weight. I've gone from about 1800 to about 2700 calories and i just can't seem to gain weight. I've had protein shakes after i workout, and i do mild cardio (i'm fairly active) but i have a lot to eat and i just can't gain any weight. Fat or Muscle.

I can't eat that much more food because i feel stuffed, and yet i still maintain my weight. I eat fairly healthy, but i've been adding more carbs/fat to see if it will help me gain any weight, which it hasn't

Any advice? New workout regimen?

Thanks

I'd say even 2700 isn't enough to build muscle at 168lb - try to go to 3500...

Start eating calorie dense foods. Stuff like peanuts, natty peanut butter, ect.. They are packed with calories but don't fill you up as much. Post your diet. 2700 calories def isnt enough.

Well I know its not near enough for me to gain weight. I am about 12-15 lbs heavier than you with a similar bf%. If he is not gaining weight at 2700 cals then he should add more or re-evaluate his sleeping and lifting.

Start with 2850, if you find you are not gaining then bump up your calories, if you are gaining too much fat then drop them down.

Alright thanks. Also, is it really important to eat a lot of carbs or protein etc. at certain times in the day? Obviously i know that you need the most carbs and protein after a workout...but like what bout in the morning, night..does it really matter?

Some recommend tapering off carbs and increasing the healthy fats at night. Make sure you're getting plenty of protein with breakfast too.
