Default A question about growth..

OK, my friend is 5'6 and naturally short.. but he wants to grow to 5'8 and wont workout until he reaches that point. can anyone tell me if working out at 16 will stunt his growth.??

GENETICS! If he is going to be 5'8" he better have the genetics. Alot of discussion has been posted on here about this very topic. Go to the search button and type in "stunt growth". Lots of topics. Or, read this:

Default Why?

why would he want to be taller? im in a strength training class, and im 6'1". i wish i was shorter. shorter people have a leveage advantage when lifting.

i was 5' freshmen year in HS and have had to lift for 3 straight years for football. At first i wouldn't squat either but said screw it and did it anyway. After 3 years of squatting, benching, dead lifts, and everything else every other day for 3 years i am entering my senior year at 5'11" and my doc said i will probably be 6'1"
