Default Squating?

is squating at my age bad for growth and health of my knees? i am 14 and i just recoverd from oshgood schlotters...a thing where you grow and you push yourself to hard, and the tissue on your knees starts to slowly tear off...i squated before i got oshgood and it seemed fine, but i must know if i can squat because i bench more weight than i squat...i need to know the following: is it healthy to squat at this age, and if it ok to squat after recovering from oshgood schlatters.

thank you

With perfect form it should be alright Osgood-Schlatter's occurs when you repeatedly/ vigorous use your quads I think if you are serious about gaining size, you should reduce what ever it is in your lifestyle that caused this injury.

If the pain has completely stopped give squats a go although do not try to go too heavy too soon. If the pain ever returns stop squatting immediately, let the pain be your 'guide'.
