Default Bulking question

I have just started my bulking period and im 2 days into it. i find it hard to try and eat lots of HEALTHY foods with the schedual i have. i no in order to gain weight you have to increase the umber of calories you take in. i wanted to know that if these calories came from not-so-healthy foods like soda and chips will i gain muscle mass also? i have 3 main meals a day but i dont feel that is enough, and like i said, i cant really have 5-6 balanced meals because of school and my extracurricular schedual.
ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU.

Yeah youll put on weight if chips and soda are part of your caloric intake. But it will be fat which you want to keep to a minimum. Try making some stuff in the morning and keeping it with you, or if your at school where there isnt really a choice just eat the best you can till you get home and eat clean there. I cut soda and chips from my diet and I also go to school and I still managed to put weight on. So maybe try packing a lunch or keeping things in your locker. When at home eat clean.

PB & J ma man

I also sometimes enjoy munchin on some soy beans....plant protein for a change.

If u have to eat chips, try and buy those soy and flaxeed chips...they're kinda funny but they're good to munch on and don't taste half bad.

Is soda that bad? I've had a look on the packets and it says there's no fat, just loads of carbs...is it not alright to take the extra carbs just to augment the overall calorie intake? Lol, if it's bad practice, I've got some pretty big changes to make, I'm always drinking Coke!

Try switching to Diet Coke, if you really can't bring yourself to cut Coke out completely.
You will get used to it after awhile. I did and now I can't touch the regular stuff.
Nothing beats a good Crown or Hennessy or even Rum with your Diet Coke.

Dont get too into PB&J. Jelly is solid sugar. Empty calories.

I always took protein bars, and had a whey shake powder in my locker for after gym class(lifting class). Just make sure you clean out your container everyday. I let it over the weekend one time. I almost threw up when i opened it.

Sandwiches are probably the thing to have. 4 slices of wholemeal bread, with a tin of tuna/ salmon, or chicken or whatever on it.
Quick and easy to eat on the go.

eat a big breakfast full of carbs and protein. you're going to have to get up a little earlier but its worth it. what i usually do is cook up a few eggs and have 2 slices of toast with peanut butter and milk. or if you dont really have the time then have a protein shake. =)

Protein shakes are really good, and a weight gainers are the best for consuming a large amount of calories without eating a lot. Champion nutrition's HEAVYWEIGHT GAINER 900 is a great product from my point of view. Don't eat chips and drink soda. Junk food in general has lots of fats, and sugars. STAY AWAY from that kind of crapy food.

Yes, soda is bad. It has carbs, but its ALL sugar, you want complex carbs instead. My A&P teacher says it the best, "if you think mountain dew is food, youre gonna get diabetes." When you drink something with so much sugar, your blood sugar levels skyrocket. Your body counters this by releasing a ton of insulin to catch up to your blood sugar and bring it back down to normal. So when you drink things with a ton of sugar (soda has something like 46 grams of sugar per can!) you get a lot of fluctuations in your blood sugar and insulin levels. Doing this repeatedly can make your body less receptive to insulin, and that often leads to type 2 diabetes.

Yeah, the chips and soda can help put mass on but not muscle. There just isnt any nutritional value in those foods. You need to try and find time to eat better, healthier food. What I do is cook up a few meals in the morning to eat throughout the day. You might try this, that way you just grab a meal later on, pop it in the microwave and eat.

im starting to take my own lunch to school now. stuff like tuna, sandwhiches with wholewheat bread, string cheese, chicken, and fruit juces. i try and stay away from sodas and chips as much as possible, but some times i have cravings. :] . im limiting to one soda a week and refraining from chips and candy/ chocolate. im hoping to make some very good gains. ive gained 6 lbs in the past 2 weeks and im trying to eat as much food as possible. im increasing my protein intake with eggs, milk, and chicken. i try to wo every other day and do cardio a couple days a week. also, i wanted to ask if anyone had any good plans or tips for maximum bulking other than the stuff im doing rite now? thanks
