Default Decline BP

I neglect to do these for some reason. Oh, I know, I believe I read it somewhere that they are not effective. I usually just stick to incline, anybody got quick advice on this?

I dont do decline at all. never have never will. thats just me. Dont feel like it's worth anything if i am already doing intense incline and straight workouts. I'm sure there is some extra benefit to it, but i say screw it. I get great results that i am happy with, so i dont do declines.

dips are good, but are designed more for tri-ceps than lower pecs. Although it does hit that area, you use mostly triceps for dips.

Keep your back straight, perpendicular to the floor and you will hit triceps. If you lean forward with a wider grip it hits the lower chest a lot more than the triceps.

true. this will put you in more of a decline bench position to hit those pec minors.

I do decline BP, even though it would probably do the least for me because i'm an athlete that lifts for football and decline is more of a straight-up bodybuilder's workout because it will make your pecs a little rounder and perhaps a little more defined. I do it for the sake of working all areas of my chest and not just 2/3 of it. I believe working all areas of your chest will benefit you the most. Of course, that's just me, a 16 year old kid who's only been lifting a few years......so do what you want I guess.

Still hits triceps more then anything.

It's a tricep/shoulder dominated movement, there isn't a way you can make it a mostly chest movement.

No more drink? what? thats pretty intense. Im not a big fan of beer cuz it makes me feel fat. So its all about hard drinks. J.D.? Ye Ol' Cap'n Morg' or mixed drinks.

I'm going to start doing more bottom pec excercises so i get well rounded pecs

Pecs are pecs man, you stimulate it, and because it is one muscle it grows as one muscle, not as parts. Try different exercises, and see which one hits your pecs best for you. There isn't any "Decline for lower pecs" kinda bs. I can pretty much promise that if you do incline, they will grow the same.

incline and flat bp are the most important... but u should prob think about doing decline after you do both incline and flat.

Declines are very effective. I stopped doing flat bench and switched to declines. The reason being is the angle. This angle alone will reduce the amount of work your shoulders do and place more stress on the chest which is where you want too. My chest finally started improving once I got rid of the flat bench.

I do flat dumbbell presses but when I use a straight bar its the decline movement.
