hey guys, leave this man alone, he has an important question.

Whey Protein Isolate is the BEST protein and eat lots of eggs and tuna fish . They are your best bets. Keep up the good questions there are more people wanting to be educated just like you.

lol...tuna fish? skip that, mercury level on the rise!

Eggs= good
Steak =Better
Turkey breast=Best
female breasts= it depends who its attached to

If you're looking for preworkout. whey is whey better.

and post workout: if you're on a budget, 2% milk will do the job

yeah Whey is definately good for post workout, prework out you should eat some slower absorbing protein around 2 hours before training, as well as some complex carbs. Thus taking advantage of the 'window of opportunity'.
As far as tuna is concerned it isn't that bad, the recent bad press of high mercury levels is somewhat overhyped.
This is mainly for the benefit of the intake for young children, as mercury as been found to contribute to inhibiting their learning capacity. Tuna is a good source of protein and theres nothing wrong with eating a couple of cans a week.

yeah... post work out and eggs and fish are the best choices for protein.. not steak. although steak does taste good.

unless you spend 5 hours in the gym working out i dont think absorption has any bearing on the matter. My whole routine can be done in an hour's time so I say whey pre or post doesn't matter

Real food also works. I mean, shakes arent really needed by anyone. It just protein, the same as eating a piece of meat or drinking a glass or two of milk, or having some cottage cheese. I would reccomend sticking to real food, and only using a shake if you cannot get to a real meal within 45 minutes of your workout. And eat alot of protein before you lift. I usually eat a big meal about 1.5 hours before a workout, it has lots of slow burning carbs and protein. ANd then like 4oz of meat right before i go....just a little something. Shakes arent needed unless you dont have access to food for a while after ur workout...in my opinion.

Whey protein is absorbed very fast and eating all that meat pre-workout would probably make me puke or really sleepy. I already eat 3 very large real meals a day, so that protein shake is easier to go down than real food when im already not hungry as it is.

Like Trainedmind & Bufflurp stated, whey is great to take for both Pre & Post-workout. Casein for in the morning or at night.
