Because bread is full of carbs...and carbs are energy...unless you don't use it, then the body stores that unused energy as fat....which is usually the case in lazy America......but as for gaining weight....what the people said before is pretty good....do short and intense workouts with low reps

fat smat - this is a bulking thread - if you bulk up, you will gain some fat - sh*t happens, get rid of it later
train something along the lines of: day 1: bench press, overhead press day 2: deadlift, bent over row day 3: squat, leg press train with reps at 15-20 for warm ups with light weight, then heavier weight you can do between 8 and 12 reps with for your working sets 1 warm up set on each exercise - then maybe 3 working sets each exercise (things like this depend on the person) - never train for longer than 1 hour just do day 1, rest for as many days as it takes for you to feel up to doing day 2, then same again till day 3 - then do it again Eat loads, never train without eating a couple of big meals earlier in the day, never train an then dont eat much afterwards..actually, NEVER DONT EAT MUCH! always eat a lot - stick with foods such as chicken, tuna, brown rice, pasta, white fish, and brown bread as your main sources of protein and carbs through the day - always start the day with oatmeal - try to have a whey protein shake straight after every workout - make sure your getting your veg, or at least taking multi-vit tablets, add in some oil to any meal you can (flax seed or 100% olive oil) to get your good fats up - possibly take weight gainers 2 times a day to help get your calories up more so - drink a lot of milk, and loads of water its all about more kcals, your need to consistently eat more to get bigger |

CXoutn your calories. get about 3500 cals. 45% from carbs 40% from protein and 15% from fats.
I would take in 4500 calories a day during my bulk. I gained 17 lbs in 6 weeks, with CE2, and NO2. To gain weight, you must take in more calories than your body expends everyday. It's that simple.

Stay away from carbs, they only stop you from burning fat, and will not help you build muscle. Protein is the whey to go. Whey protein is all you need - its by far the best for gaining muscle mass.

Carbs are essential bro. I was trying to bulk up without them and failed miserably. Whole grains are the way to go. Whey is important, but I really only take it after working out. Bread is just fine as long as it is whole grain. Hell, I don't even watch my diet as closely right now because I am trying to really bulk up...have some cheat foods (bad foods/ fast food) from time to time just don't make an everyday thing of it. Once a week is fine. I wouldn't really worry about fat too much at your weight. You probably could stand to gain a few pounds of straight fat...might make you look healthier...I was way too thin for a while and I thought I was looking good, but didn't start getting compliments until I had put on a little fat as well as muscle. Bottom line: Eat a ****LOAD of food every two hours or so, lift heavy weights with low reps, and sleep 8+ hrs per day.
