Quick Q, What are the signs that you are overlifting with a deadlift. My lifts are hopping up at a big rate, improving by 15 KG at a time because i dont feel i am lifting any where near as heavy as i could with a dead lift. so i thought id slow down for now as i used to lift the same weight but not increase it. So im not new to dead lifts but now i have the weights to build it up. Im currently around 60 KG (ish give or take 5 KG) and im liftin 75 KG dead lift now and i think i could go heavier.
I dont want to mess my lower back up so any signs i should look for to tell me when i go too heavy or will i just know because i will only be able to do 10 or so reps. right now i can do 12 with my 75KG but feel i could do maybe 20 or go higher. Advice would be really appreciated cuz you only get one back

thanks just wanted to check and make sure. Got a workout today so probably move the weight up again.
Just on average how many times your body weight do most ppl lift with a dead lift? just wondering where to aim for cuz 75 feels heavy but i can still crank out 12 reps with comfort so only way is up !

12 reps way too many, deads should be in the 4-6 range and heavy...heavy to you that is....and you should have to work for those last two reps. Make sure you are not doing touch and go either, each rep should land on the floor and break momentum.
I am no expert, but I have moved up 85 lbs or so in last 5 months in just adjusting form and working on weak areas and using methods listed above. Here's a clip of me doing 315 deads sumo style...just switched over style recently. Ignore last rep...its ugly...lol. http://www.mightysworld.com/MightyVi.../315x3set4.wmv |
