what is the correct name for it
and how come only a few times have i had felt the after burn and stain. my gym teacher said when you work out your muscles would hurt for 2-3 days, only once in great while would that happen to me.most of the time i only feel the pain while working out. sry if the description is bad |

It is caused by a lactic acid buildup in the muscles I believe. If you are not sore it doesn't mean that you are not growing. Try changing your routine up, maybe trying some new exercises, that always does it for me.

lift heavy and cut down your rest time between sets. if you workout with a person that will help you lift heavy and pound out a few more reps. make sure you are getting the full range of motion and proper form. feeling the burn while working out is most likely afterward but the soreness after is from strained, injured muscles which is the good because by doing that you are stimualting them to grow strong and bigger.
