Default Deadlifts AGAIn

i know this is probably a well covered topic but from the quick look i had i couldnt see anything about this. plent about form though and im pretty sure my form is good.

Problem is, as i do my lifts i feel fine, i feel i could do a lot higher for my 10 reps (start low i was told). thats all good and i move on. By the time i get to shoulders and do lateral raises my back feels really sore and stiff. The next day i can hardly touch my toes. Its not an outright constant pain the next day. i was just wondering if this is normal as in your chest hurting the next day or if this is a bad sign?? i have stopped deadlifting while waiting for feedback

Not normal... I'm never that sore after a back workout. I worked out my back yesteday and I can barely feel the soreness. Yuor either doing something wrong or donig to much on your back IMO.

my hamstrings are usually very very very very sore after doing stiff legged deadlifts, i remember a few weeks ago i used too much weight from doing them and my shoulders felt the pain..

correct form. legs totally str8. reach down and st8en ur bak with the w8 in ur hand and then put it back down and repeat????

Well i stretch my lower back and im pretty flexible. i feel like i could do a bit heavier actually when i lift? its not a pain that lasts. just in the monring like stiffness. its like working your chest and it being sore the next day kind of thing.

this worth asking about in the injuries section??

After I go really heavy on deadlifts my back is kinda stiff in the gym (not really a bad stiff though) and sore the next day. Feels like and other muscle does when its sore. The more you do deadlifts the less you will notice the soreness. Also I have read that you don't need to go heavy every time you deadlift.

(ie. When i go heavy I do 2 plates and a 35 on each side (not bragging as that is nothing compared to most of the guys on the forum) So 1 week I will go heavy for around 4-6 reps, then go light with 1 plate and a 35 for higher reps, and depending on I feel the next back day I will either go heavy or medium which is 2 plates.)

Your lower back is something you don't wanna mess with. Ever once and a while give the deadlifts a break and do some good mornings.

Edit: Besides for stretching which is a must alway sit down between sets. Right before your set go for a little walk around in the area you are lifting in, get your back nice and loose. Before my set I alway do a few reps, using the mirror with no weight to make sure my form is good and to loosen up. Repeat after every set.

yeah thanks. i normally do deadlifts in two week blocks alternating between free weight presses because both of them can be pretty rough on the back. It has eased off a bit now. they used to be a regular and it wasnt sore then but starting again it was. mmmm never made the connection well now i know. so if when i start again next week and the pain is less by the next few workouts i will let you know
