Well, i don't see how weight lifting in the 90's could have anything to do with 16 year olds since in 99 a 16 year old would have been 10 and probably not weight lifting. I take back my earlier statement about a 16 y/o not being able to bench 300+, because since then I have asked several 18-21 y/o looking kids at the gym how old they are and it turns out that lots of them are much younger than they look. I personally can bench 300+, but i am now 24 and have been working my as* off to get my bench up to 300 since i was 16. That's 8 years!!! It's just depressing to me that some have such fantastic natural abilities when it comes to benching, and it took me so long. I guess that's the name of the game though...dedication. So, any of you teens out there reading this (it is in the teen section) that have crappy max benches, just remember that 300 lbs is possible. Took me 8 years, but it's possible. Next stop...............400!!! |

Well to anwser your question about liftin in the 90's, i pulled that outta my a**, secondly i compeltely agree with you, i have to work for my meager bench and kids can come in and doe 1.5 two twice that without ever watching what they eat or getting off their recliners, very frusterating. VERY frusterating.
Good job wit 300 though, keep up the good work

the biggest thing to be proud of is the fact that unlike some ppl you get up every day even when you would rather b sleeping or eatin junk food or doin' something much easier and probably funner and you go and hit the weights even when you are at a platue and feel like throwin' in the towel thats wut to b proud of not how many pounds you can push... that's stupid

Benchpress: 135 lbs. 8 reps. Full Squat: 135 Lbs. 10 reps. ASS to GRASS haven't checked my deadlift yet Yes, these seem like pathetic amounts to be lifting, but the catch is, I could be doubling my bench, and tripling my squat if I maxed out and used bull**** form, and I if only went parallel on my squat, vs. all the way down, hence ass to grass. Moral of the story, internet lifts can't really be compared that accurately to each other, because people lie about the amounts they do, and people use bull**** form a lot of the time.

I respect the people I see giving it their all day in and day out more than the big guys who come in and do 2 sets on bench and leave. It takes dtermination. |
