Catatonia is on a distinguished road
Default Levorex?

I posted this on another board with no avail, so I figured I'd copy it here just in case.

Here's the problem. I am 17 years old (female) and I've been training for 2 years now. I first lost a massive amount of weight (50lbs+), but then I couldn't maintain that for very long. They diagnosed me with Cushing's Syndrome that is cortisol dependent and told me to hit the road without medication. The disease is a fatal one if left untreated, and finding a good doctor who will also accept my insurance is a struggle to find. Basically, I am way far behind. The disease is characterized by chronic fatigue and insulin resistance, loss of menses, and a LOT of other symptoms. I am sorry, I don't have a link to the site that tells you all about it, but if you look it up it'll sure enough pop RIGHT up. It's also known as hypercortisolism. To be absolutely clear - I took 4 tests: 24 hr urine to see if cortisol is in the urine - positive, 2 pill dexamethazone test to see if the cortisol is in the blood - positive, 2nd dexamethazone test 8 pills for 2 days - neg. Catscans for tumors - neg.

I have 2 out of 4. I have each and every one of the symptoms from the moon face to the wound healing.

Stats: bf% - unknown but is definitely in the upper - mid 20s
age: 17
weight: 144 last time I checked
height: 5'3"

Would Levorex or thermorexin help while I search for a good doctor? The disease is causing intense insomnia and sugar cravings. I haven't slept all week. I am trying my very best to control myself as much as possible, but I usually eat in the middle of the night only half consciously. I was thinking just Levorex alone...

Will anyone please advise me?

Apparently I am taking hits for not being nicer to you...sorry.....So here is what I would do. Cushing's Disease is going to make it hard to lose the weight (or keep it off if you lose it) so your determination is going to be critical. You are going to have to fight the cravings no matter how hard it is b/c your body will have a natural disposition toward gaining fat. I would try to stay away from weight loss supplements as you don't know how they are going to affect your condition. Another thing... If you simply cannot handle the cravings keep only healthy things to snack on around. Fruit is good in moderation and whole grain cereals like all bran or shredded wheat are pretty good to snack on IMO. I would definitely recommend discussing in detail anything you are planning on taking with your doctor the next time you see them b/c you don't want to make anything worse than it already is. I hope this helps keep us updated.

For the insulin resistance you might wanna look into a supplement called Glucophase XR. It's got K-R-Alpha Lipoic Acid among some other things. It's pretty good for increasing one's sensitivity to insulin.

There is no evidence that K-rala (even if it were pure R bound to potassium) is even as effective as r+ lipoic. And since its made via extraction and not synthesis, its actually 80/20 r+/s-.
