Default bike week tragedy

Just thought Id share this website with you guys....it's a tribute to a couple from our biker circle
someone put alot of time into it and should be viewed

This couple were on their way home from Daytona when their rear tire shread and flipped their bike. He died on the spot..and she passed in the hospital a few hours later. We have know him for years. Didn't really know his new wife so much. They left behind three children......

what's rough is .....it could have been prevented.

He road him and his wife four hours to daytona on a bald tire. It wasn't just a freak accident...it was lack of preventive maintence. He had two people offer him a replacement tire.....he just didn't get around to putting it on.....
not real smart...

That's ridiculous. Maintenance on a motorcycle is so much more important than on a car. If it was bald to the point of people pointing it out and offering replacements, he is certainly at fault.

That's terrible. I feel lucky, could have been my story. My back tire blew out in the interstate 2 years back, my wife was on the bike with me, but we got off the road ok. I had been feeling something unusual with the back tire on occasion but did not check it out... thought I had a few thousand miles left on it. Keyhole's right, if you ignore maintenance on your bike you're asking for it.
