Default Minutes silence

Dunno if they do this in the US or anywhere else for that matter, but in the UK we have a minute of silence for groups of people who have passed away.

Does anyone else think it is wrong to only have a minute of silence for certain people or groups of people and pretty much ignoring all the other people who die across the world every day?

I was just having this argument with someone and I just wanted to see if I was alone in my view...

Totally agree and if others don't want to observe it fine.
