dude, if i had a 2.5 cumulative gpa after this year (my sophomore year), do you think i'd be able to transfer and get into vcu? i was just wondering because vcu is just a couple minutes from my house and it'd save me big money on tuition.....i figured id ask you because im sure you know some people who have transferred in or what not.....plus i go to cnu and it blows a willy

that doesn't sound like a problem unless you'll be taking lower level classes i.e. introductory courses like calc or chem which usually have a ton of seats that fill pretty fast.

how does the GPA work over there? i've always wondered.

here in australia, it was from 7 being the best, to 1 being the worst.

Currently my GPA is 6

in colleges and universities here gpa is determined by the total number of points you get per course

-ex. a-4, b-3... the total points divided by credit hours gives your gpa.

yea by the time i transfer in ill be done with my gen. ed. classes and ill be going straight into my major specific classes

Depends on what you are transferring in for. Things like Biomed and med school you need an insanely high GPA to transfer in.

If all else fails, transfer in with a bunk major (Astrology?) and switch it. You should be able to get in depending on what your SAT looks like.

im gonna transfer in business probably...just general business...ive taken business classes this year and my grades are going to be good...they wont count and ill have to do them over again at vcu...but i figure it will show them im capable of making a's and b's in a business classes...my gpa will be hopfully a 2.7

im studying a mix of pre-med courses and business courses, ive yet to make up my mind on what i want to do with my life still lol

lol. you and 90% of most ppl at college/uni IMO. i went from wanting to do law, to IT, and then considering a science, i was also good at business. and then at 16 i found what i wanted to do, something to quench my thirst for knowledge, and now i'm halfway through my 2nd year, getting very close to my last year of my degree.

yea i thought about law too...failed chemistry, so im kinda ruling out the pre-med....so i guess ill do business...its so broad of a category you almost cant go wrong with it...you wont make big money unless you raise your value a bit, but i mean its a fair starting market when you get out of college depending about what are of business you study

just because you failed one class doesn't mean you won't be capable of going into that career. At my school a lot of the students that can't handle engineering transfer to business because of its decreased workload.

we have a shirt that says "the limit of ENGR as GPA is approaching zero = BUSINESS" all in correct symbols.

nothing wrong with business, i think everyone should get a degree in it but you maybe able to double major if you are considering business

Dude, I'm coming out with a master in business with a bach. in engineering. If you want to make yourself worth more business wise, thats a good way to go.

yea i was told it would be pretty easy for me to double major, id only have to complete like an extra 4 or 5 classes, so pretty much just attend for one extra semester....my only problem is that i failed my second chem class i took....id have to take an entire 'nother year of chem even if i went back and passed the other chem that i failed....and im AWFUL at chem....i mean i studied my ass of and i still couldnt make the cut...thats when i decided i just wasnt cut out to be a med student...its sad though because i love i biology, and i made A's all the way across in it....stupid, but oh well

lol, I've seem some interesting Engineering shirts at our school too. One said "Engineer" on the front, and on the back it said, "I'm drunk and am still smarter than you." A bit too cocky for me but still a funny shirt.

How many years is that going to take you? I havnt looked into it too much, I was thinking of minoring in business but was wondering if there were better ways to do it.....

im not a great student though, i worry that i'd flop with a curriculum like that

so what, chemistry used to be my best subject in highschool, and i absolutely hated physics. then going into senior year i did those 2, and biology and 2 math subjects...i ended up being better at physics and not liking chemistry as much, although i still wish i could get the acreditation i knowing them both . not sure about there, but doing chem and physics at my highschool is the equivilant to first-year university chem and physics. i have the knowledge just not the creditation on paper :P.

i wouldn't give up though, perhaps you should adjust your cognitive learning? that might be the problem.

me i'm just an Arts student...i know what kinda looks and comments i get from that :P. but i'm only doing a Bachelor of Arts so i can do my major in 'Philosophy and Ethics' so then i can do my honours (only halfway through my degree and already qualified for honours entry ) and then i plan to do my PhD. my only problem is having to focus on one thing when i decide to write my honours thesis/PhD thesis...so many things to write about! lol
