Traz..we can have a discussion with civility. I just wanted to know how everyone else in these boards felt about our current situation in Iraq. The mods are there for a reason, if I, you or anyone else gets out of hand then Taekwondo will give them a swift kick in the ding ding. I appreciate everyone's feedback so far. Especially Awais_uk's reply. Too bad he didn't have the maturity to post a sensible reply...

oh for the love of god
 I thought this thread died a slow painful death but anyways lol 2 chopper attacks in the last week in a previously 'friendly' area, looks like support for the troops is further slipping

The insurgents are desperately working to prevent the new government. As much as this 'kills' me...we are needed now more than ever. My son comes home in three more weeks. A lot of shiet is going down in Baghdad. Do I want him there? As his mom...Hell no! But the Iraqi people cannot hold their own yet. So I pray for him, for Levi, for my brother-in-laws nephew....for all our men and women. We cannot just pull out and leave the Iraqi people at the mercy of the insurgents.

the iraqi people will never be able to 'hold their own'... the insurgents will be attacking the governement members to try and get into power themelves, exactly like the Taliban in afghanistan.
unless a medievil sharia style of authority (like in most muslim countries) is put into place then they will never be happy. A repressed iraqi is a happy iraqi it seems...
