Because the french are always being whiny little *****es. They always disagree with anything an english guy suggests, no matter what it is. So we always have to give special treatment to the frenchies so they don't start squeeling.

maybe your right for some.....but not all are the same. And what you said goes for all languages not just the french.

ok so you are english and probably don't live in Quebec, right? How would you feel if you go to a grocery store or whatever and the clerk can't speak english, would only speak french? That's right, would be pissed, right?Well we see that often here and i understand the frustration some have.


I don't think Quebec should have special treatments, but it's this kind of disrespect that made some Quebecers angry.

Now we can`t walk in a get any service in English. Not only that, we can`t have English signs, English packaging........ I understand that the French people here want to be able to get service in French but the solution isn`t to make English the enemy. You don`t protect your language by making it illegal to have anything but. That`s my beef. You don`t see Florida passing any laws against the Spanish speaking community. Why has the English community been demonized?

I agree with you, english should be respected in Quebec.Just like french should be respected in Ottawa.It's suppose to be an official bilingual city, but it's not.Good luck trying to get service in french..

This thing about french vs english is very childish.We are all Canadians and we should stick together.We have so many immigrants coming in , abusing and exploiting our country that we are gonna need each other :-)

Looks like the conservative party is way ahead in polls.Question is, will they be another minority government of a majority?I think it's always better to have a minority so they can't do whatever they want.

Some accuses Stephen Harper of being too pro-american.Other party leaders even said that they are wondering if we would become a 51st state.

Well, I`m not a fan of Martin, but Harper`s even worse. Harper will turn around and undo everything Martin has done for this country. I have to laugh everytime I hear him say he`ll cut taxes and hand out 1200$ cheques. Seems we always get promises of lower taxes until they`re in and say ''we weren`t aware of the finances of this country.'' But it works. Some people suck it up.

I will be voting Liberal. Not because I like them, but because they`re certainly a hell of a lot better than the other candidates.

If Harper likes the U.S. so much, he can move south, I won`t mind a bit.

And nobody who's running, despite what lies come from their mouths, will do any better. It takes money to do all these things and money this country doesn't have. You think if Harper starts handing out checks and giving tax releif that there will be money to help the health care? Nope!

you have no concept of money....the reason why canada remained strong over the last 10 years was because of liberal fiscal policy.

1. no tax relief: paying taxes keeps the economy going....are you one of those that wants everything for nothing? also, there are ways to pay less tax...you just have to know about it. dumb poor people never look for these ways.

2. wait times? here is how you reduce wait times....get all the fvcking idiot who go to the hospital with a stuffy nose to stop going. also, user fees should be charged as well as private health care for those that want it.

3. horrible health care: go live somewhere outside canada and see what horrible health care really is...

anyway, i thank martin/liberals for all they have done, but i will be voting PC. it is time for change.

Yeah I work at a hospital (in the US) and wait times are unavoidable. There are too many variables at play. Also, people do go to the hospital for ridiculous reasons. When I was little we didn't go to the hospital unless we were bleeding from the ears or had lost a leg (you get what I mean). I had always heard good things about Canada's health care as well....
