Gay Marriage

Lets start with something really contraversal. What do you think and why? Personally I believe to each his/her own.

My only problem with recent events is cities like San Fran bypassing state law. My wife believes that by doing that San Fran is paving the way to change state law. I disagree, we live in a democratic society and the majority rules. Issues like this should be taken to the voters of the whole state (maybe even country) before it should be legalized. I don't have a problem with it, but, I do have a problem with the way people are going about it. That's my opinion what's yours?

Why shouldn't gays be allowed to marry? If the system recognizes gay couples through common law, then they are essentially married. They just want the ability to have the ceremony and get the piece of paper that makes it official.

People should be able to choose their own partners. I just think it should be done through the existing legal avenues we have in place. It should be changed through state or federal law not within individual cities.

i say let the gay marrriages happend, but not a gay church which is what they want now a all gay church......

I agree with Jock. An all gay church could be viewed as discrimination, segregating people of different sexualities. I have no problem with gays, or gay people marrying. It's not anywhere in the constitution that it shouldn't be allowed. Religious views are what's interfering.

i think you half to seperate church and state. I like bush but his opinions are based on his faith on this matter. i think you half to treat everone equil... so to each his own. so i believe mouse can now get married to kross.

I'm all for gay marriages. Legalize it all over and let them be happy.

As for the all gay church thing...bad idea. It would cause more harm than good because you will end up with these gay bashing morons torching the places, blowing them up, and other things of the like.

Gays should not be allowed to be marry each other. Marriage is between a man, and a women. The entire concept of marriage is based on religous foundations, and every religion clearly states religion is between a man and a woman.


As for the gays who moan and complain that this is discriminatory, I disagree. I don't think it discriminates against ANYONE!! Heterosexuals ARE NOT allowed to marry members of the same sex, and neither are gays. On the other hand, gays are free to marry members of the opposite sex, and so are heteroes.

Ok so what if it were the other way around? What if heterosexuals were the ones who weren't "allowed" to be married? Wouldn't you fight for what you want if you found a woman whom you loved and wanted to marry? Yes, I think you would. It goes both ways. Religious foundations or not, it is WRONG to forbid one person from marrying another no matter what their 'status' is.

why should they not be allowed bar scrapper? you said that it is not biblical. that is true but the goverment is should not be involved in religous decisions. when was the last time you said the Lord's prayer in school? the goverment baned it because they want to seperate themselves from it. the 2 are seprate. I believe a church has the right not to marry gays if that is what it believes but i don't think the state has that right.

Gay people can live together... They can't get married. If i were gay i would not bother with marriage. What is the point?? Your religion rejects you anyways. I don't like seeing gay people walking around holding hands, i find that gross and offensive. Letting them get married would only encourage that crap.

i understand your point but you half to look farther into it. today if your married you get goverment assistance and in the states it can lead to better health care. it is discriminiting to give a married couple something and not give another couple something based on the fact that you disagree with moral choices that they are making.

Stop using the word "discriminating", because it is not. The debate is "should people be allowed to marry others of the same sex". Not "should gay people be allowed to get married". Gay people CAN get married, just not to members of the same gender. This same applies to everyone...

If i have "beastality" (sexual attraction to animals), should i be allowed to marry my dog? Of course not! And no, that is not discrimination either... NO ONE is allowed to do that.

How is that offensive to you? They're not doing anything you don't do with a girlfriend. If you can freely show your love and affection for a girl, they can freely show their love and affection for their partner. It's a beautiful thing to feel that comfortable out in public and to not let views like yours keep them from doing so.

Gays shouldn't be allowed to marry in the sense of the term but they shouldn't be barred from civil unions. I can't see why these gays gotta be so damn picky over words. It seems like alot of people are willing to give em civil unions so they can get all the same tax benefits and such that normal people get when they get married but these gays keep trying to get that extra inch and I think if they dont pull back at some point there is gonna be a huge backlash against em. I don't blame people for it either since gays are the most annoying people i've ever seen in my entire life. I cant stand normal people that are annoying so I dont understand why the gays think I'll put up with their crap either. Its like they all were born with half a brain or somethin.

It offends me, b-cuz i don't consider gay culture an acceptable part of main stream society. It clearly IS NOT... They are a very small minority, trying to change laws for the rest of us...

we half to get over the fact that people are always going to be different then you or me. my main thing is that you can't treat people different because of color or religion etc.. when you do you setting us back. we half to be tollerint of different people.
