First off, my boyfriends mom is gay and her and her partner have been together for 18 years come this Dec. and they are getting married on their 18th annaversary (it's legal here in BC). Anywhoodles, I love them dearly and I think it's great that they are getting married. I am religious as well. I think that "idealy" a seperate union should be created for same-sex couples. Same rights and everything as a marriage, but just called something different (like "Gayrriage"....I'm kidding, but you get the point). That way everyone's happy. Cause from a religious persons standpoint, MARRIAGE (the actually meaning of it) does say that it's between a man and womam. So, just make up some other union for same-sex couples that says beteen a man and man/woman and a woman. I dunno. People just need to love and not hate.

Yes, we do need to love and not hate. Keep in mind, though, that marriage is not a religious institution - there are secular marriages, and every religion has its own marriage preceedings and definition of marriage. To outlaw gay marriage as defined by Christianity for all marriages is tyranny, because Buddhists and Unitarian Universalists don't view gay marriage in the same way, so should the Christian view be forced down their throats? Also, religions fought with each other over whose "god" and whose "religion" was the "true" "god" and "religion" - to the point of KILLING each other. "Holy Wars" they were called. Men at the time did not have to "answer" to anyone really, punched no time-clock, etc. so they did what they wanted pretty much and that included having Sex with each other. Something Men have always done. Naturally. Not all Men, but many. Each individual pretty much did as they felt and what was "right" for them... "Religions" needing Men to "procreate" so they could have more people born and raised to "fight the fight" made the prohibition against BiSexual and Homosexual activity for this reason. And because they were trying to somehow "control" Men. "Religions" and religious leaders are the original politicians.

Seriously John, do you not have anyhting better to do than to dig up old threads and troll on the boards? Do you have anything of substance to contribute besides bringing up every single thread that has the word "gay" in it? I know that you must be inspired by Brokeback mountain and all, but all your comments could have come on one thread.
