Default Strongman comp results

Well, my school bent me over and did me dirty to say the least. The day started out raining and finally stopped. There were 3 prelim events and the top 4 from each weight class moved on.

First event was the farmers walk in sand (hard) with 150 lbs in each hand.

Finish- 3rd out of 22 competitors, only one person finished. I yacked right after this. Video

Second event was 300lb tire flip, most flips in 75 seconds, started to rain during my attempt.

Finish- 3rd out of 20 competitors with 19 flips (they wouldn't let the last two go to complete the event so they threw this whole event out, which pissed me off beyond belief). Video

Third event, hammer hold. Two 17lb sledges, longest time wins.

Finish- 9th out of 22 competitors, time- 1 minute 1 second

They only counted the hammer hold and farmers walk so I didn't make the top 4, finished 5 or 6 out of 22. If they included the tire flip I would have easily made it but oh well. The comp was very unorganized and I'm disappointed to say the least. My workout partner Omar made it in the finals and I beat him in both the tire flip and farmers walk, so that shows how messed up the system was. Anyway I hate making excuses but I'm pissed. On the positive side, I learned a lot and had a great time. Thanks to you guys for the support.

I'll post vids up soon

I can understand and appreciate the frustration of 'poor organization'. I've been in that situation and really nothing to do but shake your head, feel like you were butt f$cked for a few hours, then move on. The frustration is the amount of training you put into this, and it turns out like crap.

Hey, the good side, you had fun, you pushed yourself, and your peers got a chance to see you smoke them in the real events. They may have thrown out that event, but everyone got a chance to see you man up and flip that btch like it was nothing.

Awesome job man, proud of your training and being in the event.

Thanks man, means a lot and makes me think of it from a different perspective. Like you said I did fairly good in the actual intense events so I'm pretty happy about that. I appreciate the tips and pics early on. First comp down....many more to go?

Thanks man. They told us the entire time that we were going to use 150lb dumbbells but they apparently thought ez curl bars were dumbbells. Even though it is more similar to an actual farmers walk, the sand was a whole 'nother level of difficulty.

I, like hrp, understand the frustration. Sorry to hear how it went down, but none the less great work getting out there and competing though.

The farmer carry - the other two dudes in the vid you posted looked like they never even got out of the blocks. Kind of surprised they didn't do that event on turf or on a parking lot or something...the sand looked hella hard to deal with.

thanks hammer. Yea, most people didn't make it too far out of the blocks. I took off fast at first and then fell down almost immediately from the sand. Anyway like I said, it was a poorly planned event. The farthest anyone pulled the boilermaker special train in the finals was under 10 ft, with most not being able to budge it.

That Farmers walk was a joke with those Ez-Bars.
BUT you handled it well bro, especially for being in sand too.
That dude to your left was fvcked from jumpstreet.

I've played in golf tournaments where I was expecting a win and walked away without even placing....just in the clouds for certain events.
So I can totally understand your frustration at the end of the day.

Not bad for your first event even under the poor conditions.
