Default 2 more lifting videos

dead lift - 405x2

YouTube - dead lift - 405x2

bench press - 225x4

YouTube - bench press - 225x4

so ya, these aren't my maxes or anything, just some shots because I wanted to see how things looked from an outside view. I am pretty happy with my arch on bench, but i can always work on it. I might want to touch the bar to my chest a little lower, i dont know.

maybe keep my back straighter on dead lift, but it still felt good lift that without straps or a belt.

as always, any suggestions are welcome.

ps. sry for bad quality, taken with my phone.

your shoulders are quite a bit in front of the bar on the deadlift starting position, I'm pretty sure Jlozan will tell you to pull back and feel like you're going to tip over backwards. Your form reminds me a lot of mine on the deads when I posted my video(except I had terrible starting hips position), if you're not going to drop the weight on the way down, be wary of stressing your lower back.

You actually make that 405 deadlift look very easy. I cant do it without straps.

ya, i also agree i might be locking out early.

Haha, after looking, that 405 looks a lot easier than it feels. I got 455 a few weeks ago, so it shouldnt be all that hard, but ya, it looks like i am stronger than i feel when I am lifting, lol. Thanks for all the comments and advice.

Dude, go buy a pack of that cheap puzzle mat at Walmart and put one down under each side. It'll at least absorb the impact and you won't get yelled at. You're going to f*ck yourself up controlling that on the way down.

Keep your @ss down on those deads and try starting with your butt down lower. Your ass was half way to the where you'd lock out before you even began lifting the weight... You were kind of doing a two part motion - getting your legs straight and then locking your back out. It's one smooth, fluid motion. Make sure you do it all together. You get your form down and maybe spend a couple of weeks fixing some very slight weaknesses, and you, my friend are a 500+ pound deadlifter. Easy.

The bench looked good. It's hard to tell because that weight was a bit light for you. I like my elbows in a bit more and the weight hitting just a bit lower, but you looked comfortable. (Note - just saw that you said you may go a bit lower).

Wayne, you're a strong f*cker. I'd expect nothing less from an ASU student.

HAHA...we grow em big in the mountains i guess. I appreciate it, that means a lot coming from you. I will definitely work on my form, now that i have seen it from the side, i realize it needs some help. Hitting 500+ would be fantastic. I will have been lifting for 2 years in September, it would be nice to hit a 500 dead lift by then huh, 2 years in and I would consider that a good lift.

Thanks for the advice everyone.

Something in that Appalacian Mountain water I guess. I saw guys at home that were like 14, 6'5" 350 with beards and **** and I was wondering how strong they'd be if they actually worked out and knew what they were doing. Hell, most of them have families, child support from their first wives, and work in the mines by that age.

Can't believe I left that glorious life for this stuff.

thanks bro! I put a lot of effort into getting a big arch, and getting me feet under me to get a good leg drive. I remember the first day I ever used an arch. THe previous week I maxed a 245, i added arch, and one week later i hit 265 pretty easily. It helps so much.

Yeah your arch really impressed me, I'm pretty jealous lol. It's something I'm struggling to get, although I've improved it a little recently.

what helped me was really pinching my shoulder bladed together and then laying down, once i did that, it seemed easier to have more of an arch for some reason. ALso, focus on breathing into your gut rather than your lung, focus on expanding your stomach with the air, it gets you an extra inch or two. I just watched a lot of videos and eventually picked it up. At first, my arch looked almost the same as my old bench, but time makes it better.

LOL, I wish i could SLDL that much. Ya, I am definitly going to work on getting lower and getting my shoulders over the bar rather than in front of the bar, I will post another vid in a few weeks and see if it looks better.
